That workshop inspired thousands of photographers to create a new kind of portrait photography business. During this special event, you’ll hear from Sue again and meet nine photographers who changed the trajectory of their business and their lives thanks to inspiration they found in Sue’s CreativeLive classes. In Portrait Startup, you’ll find out exactly what these photographers did to transform their fledgling photography operations into sophisticated, profitable businesses. You’ll learn about what it takes to build a profitable photography business and Sue will detail the Areas of Mastery required to run and sustain it.
You’ll learn about:
  • Cameras & Lighting
  • Studio or Location

Sue will discuss the essential elements for building a successful glamour photography studio and you’ll get specific, tactical insights for doing it yourself. Each of the guest photographers will share their own unique story of following Sue's business model and they’ll provide intimate details on what they've discovered and what worked (or didn't) for them. My eyes have been open to wheat have been missing. This class is a great tool to have for anyone struggling to go further. Is almost like a therapy session for photographers. I didn’t get the feminist tone in this class as stated by others, but I wasn’t looking for it knowing that it’s an all female session. Highly recommended for anyone, male or female

Amazing! I love you! Reccomend for every one who is struggling with pricing and value. Who is making bussiness plan and need some inspiration or help.

  • Sue B. Aug 18, 2020

Interesting course, but .... it saddens me to see that women can only see their beauty when they have had a makeover, where they end up looking (in many cases) so different to what they normally look like. The word 'only' is used very generally.

  • Nicole G. Nov 7, 2018

This class was AMAZING in terms of really digging deep in yourself to confront those things stopping you from moving forward. After years and years of not understanding certain things about myself, I made a discovery today that has shocked me to my core and helped me see EXACTLY why I have been unable to move forward. I can't recommend this enough. You will NOT regret it, and provided you can get out of your own way, it is worth more than its weight in gold.

  • Sean S. Nov 3, 2018

Great course. Sue was well prepared and she is a great teacher and photographer.

  • Freya D. Aug 3, 2018

Amazing class. I will tell you. People keep saying "if I had a studio". I had one. At 20 years old I built my studio. It was massive, a cyclorama was in it. I even built it myself. 1300 sq f. I did not use it. I made 100$ in 2 years because I was so stuck in my head so scared. Now I have nothing, but I am in such another mindset that I am DOING. It's all in your head. I have a long way to go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the ones who are scared to ask for money. Newbies AND The pros who are talented but still feel guilty to ask 200$ for 30 highly retouched photos.

I am drinking up everything "Sue Bryce"! THIS course is SO good! I love how it is a deep dive into the blocks that we all have as individuals and as professionals. I love listening to the journeys of the "Mentors" and feeling inspired that YES! I can do this too! I will watch this every time I feel stuck. Every time I question what I am doing and why. THIS is everything that I need to light and re-light the fire that burns brightly.

I have been going throw what Sue is talking about, and it hit's home. Value my true self and don't sell myself short.

Do not like the swearing, that is not Professional to me, what is professional about saying "God Damn it" or any other bad language.

  • milan S. Nov 15, 2016

This is a motivational course by women, about women, for women. It is all about "....feelings, conquering barriers, and breaking glass ceilings...." Chapter 33 left me puzzled. Women will love this tutorial, not sure about men. Would be unhappy if I paid full price, but for $29.00, I will gladly absorb the cost - and move on. Thank you !

  • Marco C. Oct 18, 2016

Let be clear, THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL ON PHOTOGRAPHY. This is a BUSINESS of PHOTOGRAPHY course. I am extremely happy with this purchase. It changed how I will do business moving forward. I only wish I had purchased this series sooner. Sue takes her experience and shares her process and heart with you. Thank you thank you that you... now, on to making money!

  • Paul S. Sep 18, 2016

Class maybe as important as the day I bought my camera!

  • Kelsey S. Aug 8, 2016

I cannot wrap my head around what I've just experienced with this class. I am overwhelmed with emotions and excitement. Sue has once again lit a fire in my soul. I wish I could verbalize what this class means to me.

One word comes to mind...amazing. I have never watched Sue Bryce, let alone even heard of her! (I'm sorry!!!) I saw a pop-up ad on Facebook for a Portrait Startup lecture, and I went for it. I am a wedding photographer. I have been thinking about changing my business over to portraits, because I love to capture people for who they are. I don't get that one-on-one opportunity at weddings. So I thought, what the hell. I want to hear what she has to say about it. Honestly, I have never been more emotionally charged watching a lecture! I felt like she was speaking right at me! I was not prepared for the amount of tissues I had on my desk through each segment! Self worth, self value...all missing with me. Sue nailed it on the head. If you don't value yourself, and you don't value your worth, nobody else will either. I know that I went about these lectures a bit backwards, and I probably should have watched 28 Days with Sue first, but I can't help feeling that I needed this first! It gave me the kick in butt I needed to swallow that self doubt, and to go forward. To go where my heart is, and to stop self sacrificing. Amazing. That is what this is, purely amazing. Now I can watch 28 Days with Sue! Now I am ready to own who I am, and what I am selling. Thank you Creative Live, and most importantly, Thank you Sue Bryce!

This was such a help in further understanding the reveal wall. I also loved the fact that I felt like I could connect with the mentors because we all have blocks to get through and they continue to move forward giving us all hope. They are still progressing and it is great to see how they ran with what they learned from Sue.

  • Joan W. Jun 24, 2016

I've learned so much from watching Sue's course. She gives and gives all that she has and really wants her students to succeed. I love this course because it describes what is reality in a portrait startup business.

  • K. Jun 24, 2016

Like every other class from Sue Bryce, this one is phenomenal. The content covers just about everything you need to know to cut to the chase and start your portrait business. I love how its bout so many different and deep aspects. Her course is not only sure educational, it is also super inspiring. You can't go wrong with any of her courses. Just go for it!

  • M. Jun 24, 2016

Sue Bryce is a portrait photography genius! This course is full of candid, useful and practical information that will benefit any photographer whether they are an amateur or professional.

  • Kate R. Jan 27, 2016

What I wouldn't do to have a coffee with Sue and speak about my personal development as both a photographer and a person for juts half an hour. This course is the closest thing to that. I would buy this several times over, it is amazing and I left as a different person. Thank you Sue xx

  • Nicole E. Jan 21, 2016

Great! I love listening to Sue!

  • Cherry . Nov 4, 2015

I was praying for a mentor and a photographer helps me to sort out the digital print or print situation. I also always think "NO ONE IS GOING TO PAY ME TO DO GLAMOUR." and Sue dealt with it. The course goes so much more than just pricing. The course will save you many sleepless nights thinking if you are too expensive, too cheap, how many products should you sell, will anyone buy it, will anyone sees the value in you? As everyone else has said, "I can't say enough." I don't have a lot of cash flow, but this course is a right investment for me for sure. I saved a lot of time learning from Sue and the mentors. Knowing other people are going through the same things helps me to realise the universe is not against me. :)

  • Crystal C. Oct 2, 2015

I can't say enough about how much this course has taught me and made me realize about myself. It's called portrait startup, but this course is about so much more. If you are looking for encouragement, you will find it here. If you are looking for some tough love, you will find it here. If you are looking for comfort in shared experiences and emotions, you will find it here. Sue's approach to business calls you to look within your self first, which is a welcome changes to the many other business courses out there. Invaluable!

  • SANDRA S. Sep 8, 2015

How glad I am that I have purchased this course! Sue is just wonderful woman, photographer, business person and life coach. This course is so informative, inspiring, educating and just AMAZING!! Simply a must have! Don't even think "should I get it" just buy it and you will be blown away! I loved every second of it and will keep re watching it many times more! Thank you to Sue, wonderful mentours and Creative Live!!

i just finished watching this workshop. though i'd seen sue's name on the list of creative live workshops, this is the first one i've done. to me, she is effectively partnering life coaching with photography education. which is awesome. between being an ER nurse for almost 20 years, as well as arriving at my late 40s not unscathed, i can relate to much of what sue has said and would like to think that i'm in a better position to tackle the business of business ownership than i would have been 20 or 30 years ago. the other thing i noticed was hints of rhonda byrne. this may or may not actually be the case, but it seems like it. the power of positive thinking essentially. i loved the whole thing. though i'm not really close to implementing the business practices taught here, i wanted to watch the whole thing before moving on to her glamour photography workshop. i wanted to understand what i would be moving toward as i go through my technical education. i believe i will be adding 28 days to my class list too. thank you sue!
