Spectacular class.!!! This is what it is like on a professional set. Time is money and the director gets the shot, Taking direction is the key attribute for the talent and crew.. That means tempers are high, there is humor and passion while cajoling the set to work together. The energy was amazing on this set. I loved their working relationship. Sue and Felix both have their vison for getting the shot. And they got it. I highly recommend this class.

They are both great and Sue is just simply Brilliant! I think Sue is much better by herself. Felix chimes in with more of an "interruption" thereby breaking the delivery "flow" of the content. Somewhat confusing.

  • Ken S. Jul 28, 2020

Sue does a marvelous job. Felix might, on his own. Combining the two people did not work for me, because he interfered with what she was trying to do. Given a free choice, I would choose Sue without Felix. Given the big discount, this course is a bargain, even with the above problem.

  • Bree D. Jul 17, 2020

Helpful posing tips....Sue dominates, Felix may as well be Sue's assistant. I got a lot out of this, really liked the pdf of the posing sheets.

Just finished watching and all I can say is; those of you who felt uncomfortable with the exchange, don't go into the fashion/modeling industry. They will chew you up and spit you out on day one. I'm still laughing at those two. I would have loved to have been right there with them interacting and having a blast, just like they were. Sue really knows the body in 2D. Highly recommend!

The title of this class is a bit misleading, since the posing direction is the main focus of the class and there is really only one reference to the type of lighting they are using, however, I did think the class had some very good direction to offer and Sue really does know how to pose her subjects. I read many negative reviews about how Sue and Felix speak to each other, but the fact is that they are two very talented artists who are trying to work together to create something they can each be happy with and it's normal for people with that mindset to clash a bit when they come together. I thought that they both did well to work around this and it didn't affect the concepts being taught. Also, I don't really agree with the negative reviews about how Sue speaks to or directs her model. I do understand that giving direction is different for male photographers but the fact is that she was teaching posing, and how she personally makes it work for her, so each person will have to adapt this to their own personal style or circumstance. All in all I thought that the class was worth it for me. The posing was good, the tips were insightful, and seeing other photographers creative processes will never be a waste.

I enjoyed this class and learned a lot about posing. There's not much about lighting, however, so the title is a bit misleading. Unlike other reviews, I saw the interaction between Sue and Felix to be very playful and lighthearted. Sue is definitely The Boss but usually very politely. Would definitely recommend this to someone interested in fashion poses.

  • Yuliya P. Aug 30, 2017

I love Sue and her work, but this class was not what I expected. I just watched one lesson and I can tell that the atmosphere of the class is very negative. Putting Sue and Felix together was not a good idea. I still recommend the class for its great information, but I will not give it a thumbs up.

  • Kelly C. Feb 27, 2017

A lot of valuable information in the course, despite opinions the photographers personalities I've read, they know their stuff and I learnt a lot from this.

  • Lynnette W. Sep 17, 2016

Learned so much from Sue and Felix and I can't wait to start using some of the posing techniques this weekend. It's exciting to broaden the portfolio.

  • Terry L. Sep 14, 2015

I really like the posing tips....the interaction between Sue and Felix made me uncomfortable. I really liked the pdf of the posing sheets.

  • Laura B. Jun 11, 2015

I definitely enjoyed a lot of the posing tips, good stuff. However, I did not like the way the class was split. We really didn't get Felix much, and I'd have preferred to see Sue take charge of the camera, as that is what she would do in a live setting. The split didn't seem natural or necessary, and they didn't seem to have a great chemistry together which made it slightly uncomfortable at times. Still, the posing was awesome and I liked the flow of how she was able to achieve those things, nicely done on that front.

Sue was great with her posing guidance but I would like to have seen more work with the lighting from Felix, as I am shooting for a spa client and she wanted fashion lighting in her shots. I did get a lot from this course and love how directive Sue is with her subjects and will try to incorporate her style into mine. Kudos to the "fan guy" too. He did a nice job!

  • Logan F. Dec 11, 2014

Great introduction to posing for fashion style shoots. I would say that although briefly mentioned I felt the course didn't really touch much, if at all, on lighting (setup, positioning, power etc). Given the title and description of the course I was expecting a little more discussion and demonstration around lighting but it ended up being more about the poses than the combination of the two subjects. Sue was amazing and came across as really knowing her subject, and the course will definitely help improve my photography. For the price you can't go far wrong.

  • Sarah P. Nov 10, 2014

Wow. When they nailed the poses, it took my breath away. I love the Sue and Felix power team, and combined, they bring a LOT to this mini-course.

  • Barrie B. Oct 23, 2014

Sue Bryce has what my Thai friends would call a teacher's heart. It is hard to translate but basically means caring, deeply knowledgable, dedicated to constant improvement and possessing the ability to present to students in an easily understandable and accessible manner. "Near enough" is never "good enough'. In a word she is a professional. This course is highly recommended for developing a framework for photographers to work from. Sue Bryce also has many additional pieces of inspirational advice along the way in terms of styling and costume. A talented teacher who presents practical steps that can easily be adopted by others. Impressive!

  • T. Oct 8, 2014

I should have updated my review. The posing guide was made available shortly after the end of Photo Week. The guide is great, just what I was looking for. I did not expect there to be images from the live shoot with the pose sketches. This was an unexpected surprise.

  • Silver L. Oct 5, 2014

This class is amazing! I watched it live and participated but decided to purchase the course afterward for the excellent pdf! I have recommended this course to my photographer friends and anybody who is trying to improve their skills. way to go Sue and Felix. Love these two together. what a power team!

  • Sarah D. Sep 25, 2014

I'm back to say "thank you" for the posing guide! I'd recommend this course to all interested in improving their posing techniques---I continue to repeat watch it and find great take always every time.

  • Sarah D. Sep 23, 2014

I love this class for what it teaches about posing and fluidity of instructing a model. Nuances in movement create "cover shots" above "just a good shot". The generosity of both Felix and Sue to not hold back anything is greatly appreciated. Now-if we can get those sketches I would appreciate it, please.

  • T. Sep 22, 2014

Sue continues to amaze me with her experience, skills, knowledge and passion for not only what she does, but her willingness to share and raise the tide. Overall I think this class was by far the best posing instructional "how-to" I've seen. On another note though, I'm disappointed the .pdf's haven't been made available as promised if we purchased. That should have been cake to do.

  • Vincent M. Sep 18, 2014

i bought this class but i was hoping for a .pdf copy of those posing drawings. Great class though.

  • Ingrid S. Sep 18, 2014

Just when I think there couldn't possibly be anything more Sue Bryce could teach me, she shows yet again that with over 20 years in the industry she does have more. I'm so grateful for her big heart and how she gives it her all every time. Together with Felix, they are like a classic comedy duo, playing off each other beautifully. Entertaining, enjoyable and valuable. For this price? A no brainer. Buy it.
