This class gets to be a little bit extreme with backing up...OMG

I'm a hobby photographer and have normally done a lot of my editing in Lr Classic on my commute to work, but have recently been experiencing a lag in Classic on my laptop. After watching this course, I've switched to the more mobile setup, Jared suggests and my laptop has increased in performance and I find that there is a lot more flexibility in my editing process, though this course isn't "new". I would highly recommend it for those who are looking into combining Lr Classic and Lr CC, though bear in mind that Jared is a talker at times...

Jared does a great job of getting over the fear of the changes that my photography friends were talking about when the cloud went into effect. He really encourages you to take full advantage of all that is available with the CC subscription across all your devices. Huge time saver which I appreciate as I have many projects going at the same time. I now travel way more than I thought I would, and Jared helped me move into a more mobil form of editing so I can use my time more wisely.

Before I took this class I used Lightroom Classic CC as a culling tool more than for editing. Jared Platt showed me how to speed up my editing workflow, and rely more on Lightroom Classic and less on Photoshop, which cut my editing time nearly in half. Platt teaches in a holistic style with humor, demonstrations and tons of knowledge that is easy to follow. I really enjoyed this class, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to speed up their workflow or take advantage of the new mobility features that Adobe has added to the Lightroom platforms.

I think the other reviewers have been a bit harsh regarding Jared Platt and the new CC ecosystem. Like it or not Adobe has moved onto the cloud and has left standalone programs (Lightroom 6) in the past. I'm not happy about having to pay as you go for software, but Microsoft Office and others have taken this route in the past so no new ground is being broken here. As a previous Lightroom 6 standalone user this course explained to me how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. There are some real benefits to the cloud environment. I've tried in the past to sync my catalog in OneDrive to facilitate working on the road. The results were disaster with syncs not syncing up and mismatched data. There are multiple stand-alone programs available for those who want to work on one device. Sure, you may save some money but the time invested in learning the new programs will quickly overshadow the $10/mo Adobe fee. If you’re going to stick with Lightroom/Photoshop going forward this course will help you integrate the workflow. My only complaint is that there are several mis references made to CC vs Classic. Careful editing would help since the names of the two programs are similar and the software completely different.

Really like Jared's teaching style...has a great sense of humor & education to support anything he says. Learned a tremendous amount and feel comfortable & confident that I understand the basics and how to take advantage of the LIGHTROOM ecosystem. Good job....this was my first Creative Live purchase and am very satisfied.
