Lightweight Location Lighting with Kevin Kubota

having watched now a variety of instructors - kevin is good ! im being modest, but the best aspect for me from this course was a refreshing little extra difference to the others - some old textbook technical and kevin's personal style tweaked my knowledge just a bit further, a little rum in morning coffee . . thanks

Just in the first hour I have learned so much that it took so long for other instructors or courses to get to! Thank you soo much! This has helped my confidence more that you can imagine as I have my first on location group shoot this weekend and I was petrified! I'm still nervous I but I do feel more confident!

I LOVED this class and I don't hesitate to recommend it! Kevin did a great job explaining how to incorporate additional lighting for on-location shoots and what those items would be. Then he illustrated those ideas for the class in various types of shoots. I loved the gear he recommended and especially his DIY suggestions. He has a great sense of humor and I felt like I was right there in the class. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who shoots on location and wants to make sure they're not only using the best lighting options but also the best lightweight lighting options.

I totally loved this class. Not only did I learn a lot - it was also very entertaining. There are a few tecniques I need to try out as soon as I can. Kevin is a great and patient teacher. I like to do on location stuff cause a studio can be boring at times. And also no everybody has a studio at their disposal. Keep up the good work Kevin and Creative Live crew!

Valuable information if you are all about keeping your kit simple like me for health reason. Even though the presentation was 2012, you can still apply some of Kevin techniques to present day, lighting equipment in the marketplace today, and things like HSS v Variable Neutral Density Filter is just a matter of personal choice. The fact that he has his own style of delivery has a Photography Educator is just added bonus.

Learn a lot. Saw a lot of my mistakes.

Absolute blast to watch Kevin work. He is a master. I've already built his diy scrim and it works amazingly. I have so much more confidence with lighting set-ups now. I bought the download after the first ten minutes of day two. Oh and spent about $500 at B&H to get some of the cool gadgets he worked with. Thanks Kevin!

Kevin has a really great positive and infectious personality! He really knows how to have a good time but more importantly he knows how to make other people have a great time too! His knowledge of location lighting is out of this world!

First I thought David Hobby was god, now I think he has competition. Loved the way he developed the solutions to problems. I began to see how I need to approach a portrait rather than just having memorized a set of boxes to check off. Very well done.

This workshop was great! I watched it, and finally after watching the extra extended day of it I had to purchase it!

This workshop is fantastic! Kevin goes over every little detail you need to know for Lightweight Location Lighting. He shoots during the workshop, instantly shows the image and talks through how to see the light and make the proper adjustments for a fantastic image. He includes details about all his gear and post-processing tips, too! Kevin is incredibly inspiring! The course is easy to follow, fun and worth every penny!

I personally think Kevin provided us with a presentation relevant to the course topic Lightweight Location Lighting. He presented it in a light and casual way and not too much leaning toward the technical side. I bought this course knowing exactly what I'll get and I don't regret purchasing it. If you want to delve into a more technical lighting I suggest you get Don Giannatti's Lighting Essential's which is a good buy
