Turn standard images into timeless photos
Often you'd be quite surprised what a magazine or editorial portrait looks like before Adobe® Photoshop®. No, it's not about changing the skin or body—it's about the tones and colors. In this class, we will begin by creating some timeless imagery using simple sets and lighting setups. Then, we will crank our creativity up a few notches by exploring color grading in Adobe Photoshop. You'll learn several approaches and tools to create drastically different emotional responses to your portraits using selective color, split toning, plug-ins and more! There are many ways you can transform the look of your images for a drastically different feel. Join Lindsay Adler as she shoots a series of standard but beautiful portraits and then transforms them using Adobe Photoshop.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CC 2017
Another brilliant course from Lindsay. Great photographer and born to teach too :)
Lindsay is an excellent teacher, by far one of my favorite classes I've watched so far. Very engaging material that suites what I like to do already. Great class!
Lindsay is a great instructor. This course is super informative and I'm a big fan of seeing her entire process from shooting to editing and gives you many tools so you can take many different approaches depending on how you want to colour grade. She also doesn't over complicate the way she explains and works. Highly recommend this.
Great videos and so very well explained. I now have a lot to work with when doing colour grading. Just a question...is there a reason when you jump into Photoshop why you don't open the raw file as a Smart object ? If you do, further adjustments can be made in ACR without having to use the Camera raw Filter.
I almost finished watching this course and i can say Lindsay is a good instructor , explaining the mater very good. So far explanation for color grading in photoshop i would rate great for beginners and maybe some moderate intermediate lever . Color grading and manipulation in photoshop is really entire bootcamp for itself and i missed a bit deeper explanation of the same . As per expectations, this class gave me great jump or entry point to future develop my skill in this area, also wish that in the future Lindsay make more complex deeper professional lever class covering manipulation with colour and work with the same in Photoshop only, as LR is pretty much automatised and simple to use . 9.5/ 10 Thanks , Stefan
Great, Clear, Explanatory presentation on color grading photos.
Lindsay definitely knows the subject matter. I like how she walked through everything, including lighting and shooting the images, and explained the differences needed for different skin tones. While I already knew some of the color grading methods, I thought this was a very comprehensive class that covered quite a lot of different techniques, and explored some different looks one could try with a given image.
Very informative and organised, it really gave me a lot of enthusiasm and hope that my work can be so good too.
Fantastic course. Lindsay Adler is a such a photography Rock Star. She can do it all, shooting in and out of study, lighting, posing, teaching and very amazing, Photoshop guru. Thanks for getting Lindsay, in the beginning I never knew that she was so skilled in all these aspects. As you progress in your photography, you learn lighting, skin tones and white balance, then skin retouching, then you learn color grading and analogous colors, complimentary colors, color triads, etc. Color Grading is so key to that final polished and "expensive" look. Lindsay did a terrific job teaching this course. I watched it 3 to 4 times to really pick up how to use these tools. Lindsay is a phenomenal teacher and photographer. Thanks for getting her Creativelive.
Lindsay is great! very useful, not just for color grading, just to see her work is helpful
You'll gain total control of color grading in few time!!! One of the best courses I bought on creative live!!!
Very good course to learn about color grading in both lightroom and photoshop. I love Lindsay Adler teaching style cheerful, clear and fun,

So far I am only on lesson 7 but my mind is blown. So many new ideas are popping up in how I do a portrait shoot. I love how she goes step by step and shows so many options. I am looking forward to more of the classes but I didn't want to overwhelm myself so I am taking them a little at a time. I am mostly a landscape photographer but a lot of steps she showed helps in that too. I am so impressed with her work.
I love Linday's style of teaching. She is easy on the ears and adds lots of valuable tips along the way. And here she covers various approaches to colour grade a photo and each method is very well explained, and her comfort level and expertise in it is apparent. One thing I'd have wished was covered here, was to actually colour grade a variety of photos from her own portfolio, so that we can understand her thought process of why to colour grade a certain pic in a certain way. And also be able to see it get applied to a variety of pics. I thoroughly recommend this course for anyone who wants to understand how to apply colour grading in PS.
This is a great class to learn many options for color grading images. Lindsay gives comprehensive options for use in both LIghtroom and Photoshop. She has a style of teaching that is easy to follow and does an excellent job of summarizing each technique after introducing it to help the process sink in fully before she moves on. I love how she goes over everything she does thoroughly in a way that clearly explains each step without assuming everyone knows what she is doing. There is never a time when I thought "wait, what did she just do there?!:". Just really great information that is well taught.
Great Color Grading course. I recommend everyone to watch this course and apply the stuff at least 10 times. It will help hone your color grading skills.
Great class! Changes my whole approach to portraits. Worth both the money and the time!
This is the first class I've finished on CreativeLive and it didn't disappoint me. Lindsay is a great teacher and this class helped me solve some colour issues in pictures I've taken and showed me possibilities regarding how to work with colour in the future.
Lindsay does a great job of introducing us to some of the foundational color grading tools. I am a pretty advanced Photoshop user and use color grading a lot. But the way she presented this and showed us her approach added to my understanding and use of these tools. Great class.
Of all the photography classes that I've taken, this one provided the most value.
This gave me a lot of fun ideas to now go and play! It was quick to watch.
Dope Class!!!
Lindsay Adler helped me to work on my photography style and her techniques made my job easier. She became my ultimate motivator and did a major impact on my personal view of Photography Art!
Awesome class - Lindsay is a wonderful teacher. It might be nice to have a list of the equipment used, I had to go back a couple of times to find all of what Lindsay was using. Excellent and well done!!
