Jennifer Cody

Internationally award winning photographer Jennifer Cody had a completely different career planned. After receiving a degree from Wellesley College, she moved to Oaxaca, Mexico where she became interested in photography and began pursuing it as a hobby. She studied urban planning at Rutgers and moved to Washington, DC where she worked for the International Monetary Fund. While working at the IMF, her passion for photography grew and friends began to seek her out for special events. She shot her first wedding in 2006 and soon after became a full time wedding photographer. "It is extremely fulfilling for me to be surrounded by the intense, joyful energy of a wedding day. I hope that what I do for my clients will one day allow their grandchildren to experience those moments through the photographs."

Jennifer's work has been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, The Knot Magazine, Brides Magazine, and numerous industry blogs.

After seven years of shooting, Jennifer recognized the unique challenges in post production that wedding photographers face. She teamed up with John Aarnio to create Sidecar Post, a boutique post processing studio. Sidecar handles post production for Susan Stripling Photography and Chrisman Studios, two of the most high profile studios in the industry. Sidecar offers customized private consulting services to photography studios in the US and other countries with a goal of maintaining consistent quality throughout client galleries while utilizing a best practices workflow that maximizes efficiency and significantly increases the speed of work.

On a personal note, Jennifer loves barbecue, vintage clothing, and fast cars.
