Julia Kuzmenko McKim is a Los-Angeles based internationally published Beauty, Fashion & Portrait photographer, digital artist, retoucher and educator. An International College of Professional Photography (Melbourne, Australia) graduate.
She was born and raised in Moscow, Russia and, like many, chose a non-artistic path right out of school. After spending almost a decade in the financial industry, she realized she needed a creative outlet in her stressful and uneventful life. With her first DSLR camera she found the love of her life - photography. Within one year she quit everything in Moscow and went to Australia to study at the International College of Professional Photography.
After traveling and shooting around the world for a few years she have finally found a new home in Los Angeles. Besides collaborating with local creative professionals, she also travels and teaches beauty photography and retouching around the world - Italy, Australia, Singapore and the UK - and writes educational articles for Fstoppers.com and a number of international industry magazines such as Advanced Photoshop, Digital Photographer, Practical Photography, Professional Photographer (UK) and others.
She is the founder of Retouching Academy, an educational organization for professional photographers and retouchers. She and her team are working on a lot of exciting educational and entertaining projects for students to present in 2015.
