John gives a great introduction to landscape photography. It's a basic overview, but even if you've shot landscapes for a years, John's class is succinct and through. If you are a beginner, it's pure gold.
-
It was very interesting. I really recommend to other photographers who doesnt know so much how to make business using social media.
-
Well presented, with useful diagrams and photographic examples. Concise, friendly and no time-wasting fluff. Easy to watch at 1.5x, if you like things faster.
-
Great class! Lots of useful information. However, I'm not sure what version of Lightroom he is using because I just downloaded the latest version from the app store in Sept. 2021 and the menu options are totally different. It does not give me the option to create a catalogue.
-
This was an informative, rapid fire version of John's longer form classes. I picked up several tips even in this abridged format.
-
Ben has great teaching skills (despite that sometimes he adds too much redundancy), I loved the course and I learnt a lot. Having said that, be aware that the title of the course is completely wrong. This is a generic Lightroom course (and a bit of Photoshop), not something really specific on outdoor and travel photography.
-
Loved it!!! Short, concentrated and nice examples. The perfect class to get you started.
-
This course needs updating...we're way past PS 14.2 now.
-
Great class with wonderful examples! I am new to CreativeLive, but am quickly finding this instructor to be the one I look for in the catalog of classes.
-
A great introduction to travel photography. This course is quite short compared to other courses but Greengo does a great job of covering the basics in enough detail that you feel confident enough to move forward.
-
This is my 3rd John Greengo class and I'm becoming addicted. Excellent instructor, very knowledgeable, explains things clearly. Some things I was doing instinctively without understanding why but now that I do understand my confidence has grown. Highly recommend this class!
-
I'm about 2/3 through this class and I can't say enough good things about it. Ian Shive is a great teacher. So much fantastic and useful information. Highly recommend this class! I think it's time for another class by Shive -- Night Photography maybe please?!
-
John is an amazing instructor. He is clear, concise, and knowledgeable. He has a great power point lesson plan with lots of diagrams and examples, and stays on topic. This is my second course from John and I can't recommend him highly enough.
-
Ian Shive is an amazing teacher. You will be hard pressed to find one class with more information on how to be a landscape photographer than this one. Everything is covered: from scouting locations, gear, camera settings, composition, photo critiques, to how to seek out revenue streams from magazine assignments and stock photography. The bonus materials add even more detail. If you are serious about landscape photography, this is the class for you.
-
All the course could be named "Intro to the Lightroom" or similar. So really I wouldn't recommend for somebody who has Lightroom experience. I would expect more on the post-processing. Personally, for me it got interesting and useful from 22th. lesson.
-
Great insight into the daily activities of a professional photographer at work. Ian does a good job explaining his process, from planning, shooting, pre-editing, maintaining and his final steps before delivering his product. If you are looking for Photoshop/Lightroom editing tips or details, this is not the class for you. If you are wanting to start with nature photography, you will get some great tips.
-
Ok. At first, I didn't like the course, but after I rewatched it, I thought that I made a mistake. There are many things to learn here.
-
It's too superficial. I love Colbie Brown but this course doesn't say much.
-
Before this course I already shot landscape and nature photos. Taking this course has open my eyes a bit more and I am anxious to apply what I have learned to my photography.
-
Very good! I have been out taking pictures, more self taught but needed to understand how different lenses work. Very informative - just what I needed!
-
This is the second course I have taken that John has taught. I like his method of teaching the class. He has a practical approach to the technical side of photography.
-
John is the best photography instructor I’ve had! Very organized, knowledgeable and experienced. Very articulate and easy to understand. Thank you, John!
-
Still one of my favorite classes at Creative Live, I have watched it several times and it just inspires me to get out and capture something. I love that he shows the frustrations of the weather and to look for other opportunities you might have missed.
-
Good course. I really wish the camera settings were labeled on all the photos as far as aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
-
Enjoying Ben's class. A thorough exploration of the functionality and capabilities of Lightroom. I'm a work it out myself kinda guy but this class has helped fill in the gaps for me and maximise my workflow. Perhaps the complaints from some student relate to the naming of this class. Really it should more accurately be named Lightroom Workflow. Highly recommend if you are a beginner or an experienced user of Lightroom.
