All right second tab and this is actually the most important setting for the movies and this is the recording quality of the movie and this is where we could record f h d which stands for full high definition which is the nineteen twenty by ten eighty pixel resolution you can choose hd which is a smaller seven twenty pixel dimension or you could even choose a v g a which is a very low and I think it's six forty by four eighty in its resolution now we also do have other options when it comes to the frames per second we have either thirty frames which is technically twenty nine point nine seven which is the standard video so if you want to shoot a standard high quality video you'd want to choose f hd twenty nine point nine seven now there are two versions of that one that is normal and one that is more highly compressed and so if file size was important you could choose the compressed file if you want to get the maximum image quality possible it would be the un compressed the one that do...
esn't have the little icon with the down arrow that down arrow means you're coming pressing it into a smaller format now the other options are h d which is high definition which is actually going to be seven hundred twenty pixels and vertical height compared to a thousand eighty so it's smaller than f h d and you have the option of shooting it at rough round I'm gonna round out round out these numbers here thirty frames or sixty frames a sack now when you watch standard tv these days that is at thirty frames a second but there are some people who want to film at sixty and play it back inthirty for slow motion effects and so if you want to do that you can record it the sixty frames per second the way the human eye perceives things you're not going to notice a lot of difference between thirty and sixty frames per second and then we have 00:01:59.107 --> 00:02:02. a couple of lower end v g et settees that you could 00:02:02.75 --> 00:02:04. shoot if you wanted to shoot something that you were 00:02:04.97 --> 00:02:07. going teo email to somebody or you going to throw 00:02:07.56 --> 00:02:10. up on a small youtube video just a real simple one 00:02:11.18 --> 00:02:13. that doesn't get real large you could do it on the 00:02:13.46 --> 00:02:15. smaller size but I think most people are going to 00:02:15.04 --> 00:02:17. want to record in the highest quality video that this 00:02:17.9 --> 00:02:21. camera can record so that would be the f hd at twenty 00:02:21.87 --> 00:02:24. nine point nine seven frames per second 00:02:25.88 --> 00:02:28. now I should mention also there is a twenty three 00:02:28.25 --> 00:02:30. point nine eight which is technically or what we call 00:02:30.4 --> 00:02:33. twenty four frames a second hollywood films they're 00:02:33.18 --> 00:02:35. movies at twenty four frames a second and if you've 00:02:35.69 --> 00:02:38. ever wondered why hollywood movies look different 00:02:38.36 --> 00:02:41. than tv this is one of a number of reasons. There's our zoom. So I can zoom in if we want to get real close let me just re position here and zoom in closer and so this is all digital zoom however we are losing a little bit equality when we get in all the way but here's the takeaway from this if you want to shoot movies and you want to shoot something that's further away and you want a more powerful telephoto lens but you don't have the money for it you can do it with your built in linz you could make it three times more powerful and not lose inequality at some point as you zoom up you will start losing a little bit equality but I don't have a specific numbers to where that is going to be. You could do some tests on your own to see where you want to draw the lines but at three power you're not losing any pixels you're still getting full high definition video straight from the camera so for anyone who's going to air shows or they got kids playing soccer that are way off on the other side of the field and you got your camera on a nice tripod that's holding it steady this is a way to have extra reach in the movie mode without compromising image quality and that of course is turned on and off and normally I'm going to leave it turned off so that's what digital zoom is next up? Sound recording the camera has built in stereo microphones. If you want to monitor that sound, you could turn this on there's, also a few different controls. In here, you can turn it off. If you want. You can turn it into a manual control where you set the recording level yourself. And for those of you who are shooting mohr important videos that you're really monitoring with headphones and watching very carefully, you'll probably want to go in and manually control things for simple home movies. You're probably perfectly fine off with the auto city hey, video snapshot is an unusual mode that most people are not going to use. What it does is it disables most videos functions and limits them down to short cuts of either to four or eight seconds. I think there may be some different times in their butt to very short, specific links. In all, movie cuts are for that exact length of time and have fun with us. We're not going to go into it it's an unusual mode.
