Play 1 Menu

So we're not going to spend a lot of time in the playback menu modes these air modes for how you control and what you do with images once you plan back you can protect images this will prevent them from being deleted however memory cards can be written over they could be formatted in the camera or in other devices so it is not putting a very strong lock on your images but it does prevent them from being deleted via the garbage can button on the back of the camera you can rotate your images for instance if you were going to do a slide show on the tv and you took a vertical image and it doesn't look right you could rotate that image so it looks right on the back of the camera you can erase your images we mentioned this earlier if you want teo let's do a little live demo here so in the back of the camera I would play back who actually I need to go into the menu go to the playback where's our playback and play back we're going to go to erase images and we're going to select any race indivi...

dual images now we could erase all the imagers all the images in a particular folder or on a particular card but if you wanted to pick and choose which ones you wanted you want this one deleted well then you could hit the czech box by either actually clicking that icon in the upper left or hitting the garbage can which it stands for actually let's cancel let's go back and our actual excuse me hitting the ok button and so okay here's a terrible image let's get rid of that one and now we're going to hit the garbage cam button and we're going to erase all of the selected images and so now we've just deleted for images with less button pressing than going on the back of the camera and pressing let's give it to that he raised okay next image he race yes ok and so it's just a little simplified streamline form for erasing images print order you could hook your camera up to a printer and print directly from your camera bypassing any sort of computer system and there is all sorts of things that we're not going to go into that will allow you to choose which photos how big they're gonna be printed how money they're going to be printed and you can do that I don't know if anyone that's actually done this but it is all technically possible I know people do it somewhere but you're going to get much better control if you could hook it up to a computer size your inmates get the colors correct looking on a good monitor but it can be done built in camera this is where you go you can also connect your camera up to the cannons website and you can create little photo books, and you can package together photos and send them up using the wifi system. Not something most people going to do. We're not going to spend time on it. Once you've taken a photo you can add creative filters after the fact now we saw a little bit about this before but this is something to remind remind you of you will never damage a photo that you took in the camera you will create a copy of an image and you might do something funny with it and so I I haven't planned on this but let's go ahead and try this let me go ahead and hit play back and let's find an image okay so here's an image of our studio here creative live and I'm gonna take this image and I'm gonna want to play with it so I'm going to go into the menu and I'm going to go into creative filters and I'm going to hit the set button because down here at the bottom it says that's where all the filters are and we could choose grainy black and white or any of a number of different effects that we might wanna have in here and I'm going to go with grainy black and white and so I hit the ok button here and it's going to create a copy of that particular image who when we get to play with the contrast and so I'm going to go with high contrast cause we're going to go extreme here so it almost makes it look like a silhouette I'm going to hit the set button and we're going to save this as a new file. Okay, and so image saved in folder with number, so it returning to the original image. Ok, and so there is the original image, and I'm not sure exactly where the the new images. I'm going to see if I can find it. Oh, there it is, it's. At the end of the line, you can see. As I scroll past images. Let's. See if I can pull up some information. Uh, I guess it only does it. You can see here's all the pictures that I've been taking in the class, and at the end of the line is my gritty black and white of our studio here. And so this is a copy of the image. We didn't ruin the original image so once again, not the most important feature of the world. This is a airport time wasting mode in my mind when you don't have much time and this is the only device you have to work with, you can resize your images. For instance, if you were going to hook up tio, an internet cafe and you wanted to upload a photo to facebook and the files, the twenty four megapixel files are a little bit large, and you want to make it smaller and faster to transfer you. Khun downsize in here, you don't need a computer to do it. I would rather use a computer, but it's nice to be able to do it in camera as well.

Great Class! John Greengo is an amazing teacher. I have a t6i for like 6 months and this class helped me a lot. Totally worth the money!

As a student of John's for the past 2 years with the Fundamentals of Photography, the Nikon D3300 and D5500, I recently traded my Nikon D3300 for the Canon EOS Rebel T6i. As always, the training was superb, easy to understand, and I feel better in being able to use a digital camera. The reason for the switch in manufacturers was because of the ease of use of the Canon. I look forward to referring back to the lessons if I need a refresher course. Thank you, John. Your teaching is starting to click, finally.
