Say Goodbye To Common Photography Related Aches And Pains
Are you a photographer with an achy back? Painful neck? Eye strain? Do you tire easily on the job?
Join Vanessa Joy for four morning yoga sessions suitable for all levels. Whether you're at the top of your physical game or can't yet touch your toes, this course will give your photographer's body exactly what it needs.
Photographers share many of the same physical ailments. They're constantly either hunched over a computer or hunched over taking pictures while holding heavy gear.
If you're ready to start fighting the pain, this course is for you. With accessible yoga poses, you can stretch, strengthen, and realign your back, hips, neck, and shoulders, and give your body what it needs to keep doing what you love.
You'll also get tips on snacks that'll give you energy when you don't have time to eat during a wedding, exercises that can improve your eyesight, and mini-poses you can do on the job and at the computer to help manage pain. We'll also address some common myths about yoga, like needing to be flexible to do it, as well as breathing tools that help control stress.

I'm Vanessa Joy, a wedding and portrait photographer in the Austin and NYC area. I love photography, but the gear is heavy. Even knowing the best ways to hold a camera, I wound up visiting a chiropractor three times a week, going to physical therapy, trying acupuncture, massage, and even steroid injections. I'd had enough. Enough of being sore after a wedding or shoot day. Enough of feeling my nerves pinch and muscles tense every time I pick up my camera.
The way I beat the pain, found loads of energy, reached my physical goals, and gained confidence was easier than I thought, and far less expensive than the thousands I was spending on doctors and therapy. After speaking to photographers all around the world at events like FStoppers, CreativeLive, WPPI, Photo Plus Expo, ShutterFest, Imaging USA, and many more, I know I'm not alone. I'm committed to helping photographers eliminate common physical ailments and feel great about themselves and their careers.
This class has been extremely helpful for relaxing my neck and back and Vanessa is great at explaining the techniques. I definitely feel a positive difference physically and mentally after doing this class, which I try and do at least a few times a week
I LOVE this class! I started doing yoga when the class was first published in 2013, I was running 5k, just new to running. I did day one and two, four times a week, while training for my first marathon. It helped me become fitter and faster runner. I have never conquer day 3 yet. But the sessions became easier and I became stronger. I like how she explains for any person starting out and how to adjust the workout if not strong enough or made hit hard for your own leave! Thanks so much Vanessa and CreativeLive for helping me become a stronger person and heather. I been running marathons for 6 years and doing my second ultra run this year!
Awesome! I like doing yoga at home, whenever suits me..Vanessa explains very well and do lot of different poses and gives tips on how to avoid or heal body pain on the field..Breathing exercises are clear too.. Her lessons can really teach anyone, from beginner to advanced: she always takes care to explain each pose for beginners and she will go all the way to advanced stretch..(wonderful to watch!) I got into yoga more seriously since I've started with her, she's really a good teacher!
Love this class! I always wanted to learn yoga but never had the time to commit to a class. This lets me do it when I have time and is great at explaining how to do all the poses! Perfect for someone that wants to learn!
Loving these classes! I've been doing them for a few months now and I am a total yoga convert! Thank you Vanessa
I am new to yoga and have been doing these classes for a few months now and am totally converted! Being in my forties I recognise how important it is to look after my body if I want to keep shooting. My flexibility has improved hugely and I find the exercises leave me mentally refreshed also. I am definitely less sore on the days after weddings too. Thank you Vanessa!
I really really enjoyed this! I love how Vanessa was great about telling you not to push your body more then it could go and to not only breath but how to breath this is so important! I've done a lot of Yoga video and classes too and the teacher never seem to mention (at least on the video) other ways to accomplish a pose! Great job Vanessa!! Thanks Creative Live for putting this type of course on the calendar keep them coming love all that you offer!! I'm so busy in my job/life that I need to remember to stop and take care of me!
