Chista Meola Rocks! Take everything you think you know and put it up on a library shelf for future reference. Then with an empty mind LEARN! If you cannot shoot a successful boudoir session after this class then that is on you and no one else.

I think she really tried to make her models comfortable, I like her pragmatic advice to starters. But as an instructor I really had a hard time, her insecurity touching her hair, her noises with her lips. Also something I really dislike and gives me a lot to think about her, was her swearing on stage. Saying she has a brand to protect and does not meet clients at starbucks, but she is photographing three clients and then she says "I already got some sh*it". It is really awful to relate her own work to that expression, and she insist she is an art lover. Ironic is that she brags about not going cheap, but I pay like $10 for the course, for that price I would recommend the course even though I had to stand her presumptuous personality for a few hours.

Amazing course, fun to watch and it's stacks of content too. Definitely recommend

  • Victoria S. Feb 21, 2019

I almost did not take this course because of negative reviews, but not much options with boudoir so took a chance. So glad I did!! Do not get the bad reviews. I just loved her!

  • M. Feb 14, 2019

good one but I admit intake a moment to understand how to take advantage of this course. the moment i understood that there would not be technical discussion but only her references to a very personal experience the whole course made a lot sense to me, it was very good to listen to somebody else experience how to do things without being bothered with exclusively technical matters, I know about aperture, exposure, shutter speed enough on my own... it was well invested time. though, the student part is rather weal and can be skipped as useless point of this course for listeners

  • Jennifer R. Jan 30, 2019

I don't understand the negative reviews. I'm halfway through this class class and I think it's great. Christa is relatable and she makes learning fun.

  • Meghan Y. Nov 27, 2018

Christa Meola is amazing. I connected with her on so many levels through watching her course. I feel we have a similar approach to photography and I really hope to be able to have half the success she has had in the boudoir industry. Thank you for taking the time to create this course for us to watch and learn from. thank you thank you thank you

I was hesitant to purchase this class based on some of the reviews, but I bought it anyway. And I do disagree with a lot of the criticism here including some of the people who said Christa isn't qualified to teach the class. She is definitely qualified to teach the class because she has a successful Boudoir business. And I did learn a lot from her class. She has her own way of teaching which is unconventional and very natural and she has no pretenses and she's just very much herself which I personally find refreshing. I used a lot of her tips on a Boudoir shoot I just did and the client loved the photos. And every pose and shot I did with this new client I learned from Christa. I'm going to have to give it a thumbs up because I am using a lot of her information on a daily basis now.

I guess whether you liked the course or not depends on where you are at with your photography now. For me, I thought Christa would go over pricing in detail but she did not. That was what I needed to get the most. I would give the course a 9/10 for beginner but a 6/10 if you are more experienced. so $104 US is more than what I think it was worth...for me

As a pro photographer considering adding boudoir to my services I found tons of good info in this class. I am glad I ignored the negative reviews, I disagree with most of them. Her personality seems to definitely rub some people the wrong way and there are moments I can see why, but not many. If you like her style of boudoir and want to see how she does it, this could be a good class for you, I thought it was great. If you want to learn technical lighting skills and portrait posing then you are probably better off with some of the other great CL classes.

  • Tati B. Sep 21, 2017

I've learned so much! Christa has a great energy and everyone who was part of the workshop played an important role. I am going back and watching some of the sections again for sure as there is so much to absorbe.

  • Vicki K. Sep 3, 2017

Christa Meola has an infectious laugh and a sense of humor. The class was enjoyable and I learned some new things. Although I feel that people should take other posing classes since I didn't care for some of her posing.

I want to say thank you to Christa for teaching this not a typical workshop and sharing her knowledge on this subject top to bottom :) I think she is a fabulous photographer, she has one of the best examples of boudoir I have ever seen (and I keep looking) because she is going for a great photo first of all and not just shooting a half dressed woman, which some people think is enough. Her composition is always great, there is always a story going on, always a different emotion present. If you are interested in boudoir as a fine art form of photography I would recommend you getting this course and just listen and watch carefully. Christa, you need to come back here again with more!

    Brilliant course. Highly recommend!

  • U. Feb 4, 2017

AWESOME DEAL on Christa's course. I just sent an email to my husband to tell him thanks for "gifting" me this course. I told him just the ONE CLASS about pricing was worth the full $129 price of the course. And there are over 50 classes?! That is a crazy stupid good deal. You can learn something good from every class you take, every book you read, and just apply the stuff that works for you. There are a lot of people out there who seem to just enjoy giving crappy reviews, and to me it's almost like bullying. How someone could not find $129 worth of value in this course is beyond me. In my opinion this course is worth over a thousand bucks, because it can help you make SO much more money. I hate when I see people whining about things that are not 100 percent perfect, and they get annoyed if the person isn't catering to their exact needs. It's like the Yelper generation, with a disturbing sense of entitlement. I would love to see those people try teaching a class about boudoir and see if they could do any better. It also seems like, the more popular a person gets, the more other people feel the need to tear them down. I'm grateful that Christa even offered this course at ALL. Thanks Christa for all you do to help those of us who really need to know this stuff. You rock.

I love this workshop I was hesitating for a long time because of the bad reviews and do not regret my buy. I love the fact that Christa will help you find your mission, your style, your brand. I'm a portrait photographer and was after a business model that would help me working on location and in a style that is mine. Her class is awesome!

  • Nicole M. Apr 15, 2016

I absolutely love this workshop, Christa is amazing.

  • Bridget M. Mar 31, 2016

I absolutely love Christa! I put off buying this course for awhile because of some of the reviews....but I am glad I decided to try it for myself. She is amazing at what she does! Her compositions and imagery are inspiring and beautiful. She puts her clients first and you can tell she makes her clients feel beautiful just the way they are. This course packed full of great information and I know I will have to watch it over again just to take it all in.

This is meant to be a HELPFUL review for those that are wondering if they should purchase this workshop. About 75% of what I took away from this workshop was posing, composition for boudoir and the importance of eye lines and capturing movement. I had two boudoir sessions a week after this workshop and my images significantly improved. I was able to coach my clients through poses better, direct them on where to look for better eye lines, I was more aware of their posture and how to fix it, I think I sounded more professional and felt more confidant with getting awesome poses, stand out expressions and adding movement to my images. I put a fan on my client the way Christa does.. and she is right! The instant I put the fan on my client, her expression changed and you could tell she was really "feeling it". She told me she felt like a real supermodel right after I turned on the fan. If you are looking for inspiration on how to coach women and pose for boudoir then Christa is the girl for you. I think the most worthwhile thing I learned watching this is something that will help me in the years to come... with my brand, my website, my workflow and my business goals. I learned how to "keep it simple" which is Christa's tag line. For example Christa brings a roll of gray background paper and uses gaffer tape to hang it from the wall of the hotel (instead of bringing a 12ft background stand). I know this seems simple but this will change my life! I hate dragging equipment back and forth. There are some negative reviews on here about Christa's technical skills, but I think these people may have missed the whole point. If you provide an awesome product and an awesome experience for your client, they will buy it. And guess what.. your client will never know if you used your camera in auto or manual and they won't care if you used one light instead of two. As someone who has been in business for 3 years doing boudoir exclusively I learned a lot. I see a lot of value in learning from someone who doesn't spend a lot of money on fancy equipment, yet charges her clients over $3,000 for sessions. I'm a huge fan of her keep it simple philosophy and I'm glad Christa is willing to be honest about her workflow and how she best utilizes her time. Your not going to agree with or use everything Christa talks about, you take the parts that you like and are most helpful to you and work them into building a stronger business.

Great Creativelive Class. I would highly recommend it even though I don't shoot boudoir. but I know I became a better photographer for watching this. My edit time has been hugely improved with the very useful tips she shares with us to better cull photos. She has many techniques on how to deal with our clients and how to help them feel good about themselves learning this has helped me in ALL my photography. thank you Christa P.S> she is so good at composition in camera that I think she should consider teaching a class on composition :) -David

Beautiful work shop! I own and run Boudoir Photographers Unite a free online place where boudoir photographers can come together and learn from the pros. Thank you Christa for putting yourself out there and being so public, I know from experience it’s not always easy. Over all I give this course 4 bright stars. The only thing that we don’t agree with is Christa’s ‘just fix it in post’ philosophy. If there’s one that I try to teach my students is the importance of getting it right in the first place. Everything is second to that. As for everything else; Beautiful! Scarlett www.boudoirphotographersunite.com www.damenfotografie.de

I don't do boudoir but your workshop was amazing! I run a design/photography firm in India called Aglet Design™ and your advice on the business aspects, tips on photography and your vision in general have really inspired and helped me. This is just a small Thank you! It amazes me how you keep your gear to a bare minimum and still produce such incredible results!

  • P. Mar 12, 2012

I learned so much from Christa's Boudoir workshop! I am always at a loss for how to pose my clients, and I came away from this workshop with fresh ideas. She showed me how to simplify my approach and really get back into enjoying taking pictures of my beautiful clients. She has a very REAL personality that allowed me to identify with her. She is also very real when it comes to how much you can get right in camera and the things that you can do in post. I can tell that she has to do VERY LITTLE in post, but it is good that she tells us that we can. I think she is a balanced photographer with an amazing skill set. She was an excellent choice for a workshop on CreativeLive! You go girl!
