Nikon Lenses: The Complete Guide with John Greengo

This is but one of several classes I've recently purchased by John Greengo on CreativeLive, and as noted in the class description, he is without a doubt a master of making complex photography concepts easy to understand. In all my years as a hobbyist photographer referencing a wide range of how-to books and YouTube videos, I have never had such a COMPLETE understanding of lenses and their related essentials as I do now after having completed the class. My only regret is not having taken the class years ago! Thanks John!

I learnt so much about lenses. Wish I had taken this before I started buying camera and lenses. I am going to start using your buying and selling lenses to start correcting my mistakes. Thanks John.

Very good information, but a little outdated as it doesn't cover a couple of recent lenses by Tamron in the 3rd party section. John is an excellent instructor. Always enjoy his classes. CL needs to list the origin date of their classes

Wow! What a course! Very in depth, lots of valuable information. John instructs with great knowledge and integrity. I have taken other online courses, NOT from Creative Live (my bad!) and was left feeling like a monkey who had learned tricks without understanding or knowledge. Now I feel I have the confidence to move forward on my photographic journey securely knowing how lenses function, what to look for and what price range I can expect. Bravo John! I'd love to see a 2020 update video as an addendum.

John Greengo does it again! Yet another class of his that I walk way from thankful for his expertise and remarkable ability to explain complex circumstances that an amateur photographer might find themselves in. I enjoyed the more technical aspect of this class given that the importance of lenses are second only to the camera itself in photography. I highly recommend this class as a supplement to his more encompassing creative classes, as I'm sure there is something for every level photographer to learn here. Well done John!

John Greengo is by far one of the most amazing teachers I have ever known!!! Take every class he presents because you will learn. His approach is always understandable. The only thing better would be to spend a day with him leaning one on one! I feel more confident after each class and that is worth every penny!

There was not that much really new for me, but what a tremendous class! Although it was a more technical knowledge which was presented it gave me many new creative ideas for the use of my gear. Excellent teacher, fabulous presentation. One of the very best classes I took in 20 years that I'm in photography.

This is my 11th Creative Live class and 5th class by John Greengo. I have only watched 7 episodes of this series, but I can say that John covers the basics that will be most helpful to a new photographer with a few new nuggets here and there for someone who has been shooting for many years. In my case, I have been shooting for about 62 years and the equipment and technology has changed a lot. John's classes are spiked with lots of practical experience, experience different from mine but easily applied to what I do, and with enough humor to keep me coming back. Good job Creative Live and John Greengo.

I can't stop loving John Greengo's photography classess! This is his 3rd class that I have joined. Lord and behold, so much good stuffs pouring out. This class paid for itself instantly! I might have saved over a thousand USD by following his wisdom on how to build the best lens system for me.

Another awesome John Greengo class! I learned so much. Now, when I pine over the list of Nikon lenses available, I see so much more than a lens with a price. I see that lens' capabilities and if it fits my needs and budget. Everyone probably wants the best lens made but I can feel confident buying a less expensive lens now (slower lens). And like John says at the end of the class: it's the image that's important in the end, not the equipment.

An excellent class. The presentations are excellent and easy to follow. I am new to photography, so appreciated John's expert views on lens selections. As a result, I purchased 2 prime lens and 2 zoom lens to cover what I want to do in photography. I would highly recommend this class to all Nikon owners.

Outstanding class! This is a must own. You will refer back to this class many times during your photog career. John has put a ton of work into this class and it shows. Being able to download the slides and other Nikon glass info is wonderful. Even if you're not a Nikon shooter you will still gleam tons of information from this class, John covers in great detail the strength and weaknesses of each lens and when you might consider using it. I was expecting a good class, but this turned into an epic class. I watched multiple videos several times. The only bad thing I can say is I "had" to order a few more lenses! Thank you John Greengo for making a truly amazing class.

I watched this class on Aug 2015, I loved the way he explained so easy to understand and to learn what is the best lenses for me. I used to have Nikon, now I jumped to Sony but still so helpful his info.

Finally I have some sense of what lens do, know what I have, what I would like to have, what lens to use, and how I can get images that I see. Best part of this session is it was made so clear, simple, logical, and practical. I am glad that I purchased this product. Beginner to Pro outstanding class, must have

This is a great class, John is on of the best instructors I've ever had in any field of instruction. I only wish he had answered the *big* question: If he were starting today, would he pick a Canon or Nikon system, and why? :-(

I'm a senior citizen, having purchased my first SLR in 1975, but I've never really understood the use of polarizing and neutral density filters until I watched this class! John's demos and slides are so easy to understand, I feel like I can finally use these filters properly. Now I know when and how to use them. Thanks, John!

This has been one of the best courses I have watched. The multitude of repeating slides of the different theories and all the different effects of each lens has been so helpful. I have 2 of John's courses and he gives you all the basic information necessary to get you going and started.
