Posing and Lighting with Bambi Cantrell

Love Bambi! Love that she stresses that we should value our work and not allow clients to dictate price.

Bambi is one of the best instructors, always love her stuff, BUT!! man those video guys need a slap, everytime bambi is illustrating something as a pose they are out to lunch shooting the wrong angle. "see how this gives our girl a beautiful angle?" no sorry we can't see it Bambi!! the video guy is thinking about lunch again!

Good course, but det camera man filming more Bambi than the subjcst/s. Specialy when she is composing the poses!

I know the live camera switching is hard but the camera is too often on the instructor when she is giving the model posing instructions, or on a tight shot of model's face when her legs, etc. are being posed. It's often the case in the other classes I watched, but it was especially noticeable with this class. It is frustrating not being able to see how the models react to the posing instructions and how the lighting on them changes. It looks like 2 of the 3 (?) cameras always follow the instructor but we are usually more interested in seeing the model being posed.

Very diverse. Very informative from any other photography classes. So much to learn. I really am glad that I bought this. More power to you Ms. Bambi and to your staff.

I'm really loving this class! I'm learning a ton about posing and about how to work with people.

WAY too heavily weighted toward weddings.

Was able to preview all of the sections to this session and then bought in. Lots of great tips, advice and direction. Energy and enthusiasm paired with experience and truth.

WOW BAMBI!!! Thanks so much for your generosity and love in the abundant information you gave us during this posing and lighting course. I have had dozens of aha moments throughout the course and your practical tips have changed my photography forever. I see the direction of light and know exactly where to place myself and my subject confidently and swiftly. I still have a ton of practicing to do but this class gave me a great start . I plan on re-watching the classes and give myself some mini exercises to practice what you taught....Oh...and i wish I can remarry my husband of 15 and a half years so you can be my wedding photographer :)

Thank you Bambi, a lot of photographers do not speak about the difference between shooting African American and Caucasian subjects.... thanks for your insight with regards to metering for these two skin colours as well as the reflectors to use.

I've caught bits and pieces of lots of Creative Live courses but this is the first I've purchased and I'm really happy I did. Posing is such an under discussed topic in the usual photography places online and Bambi provides some really simple fundamentals to get things started. Then the real lessons come in watching how she interacts with her subjects. Her energy and communication ensures she can quickly get the person in front of the camera in the best position whilst ensuring they are comfortable.
