    I'm a photographer with only a couple of years of marketing my services. However, I have never bothered negotiating because I never felt like I knew what to follow-up with if they said no. Vanessa really helped me understand how to alter my approaches for each situation and different clients. I also have heard of a few skills, such as a Plan B if the cost is an issue, but I had no idea how to approach it. FYI: several of these reviews nitpick on her saying she's a researcher and doesn't have a PhD and whatnot. She actually said at the beginning that she's "a science junky." Don't let the minor details she gets wrong to keep you from trying the course, it is EXTREMELY beneficial as a whole!

    Vanessa is such a life changer. I feel so priveledged to have discovered all the wisdom that she shares. My dream is to be able to afford an in person training course with her. In the meantime, I watch the courses and purchasing them so that I can listen over and over.     In the span of a few hours Vanessa has completely transformed the way I think about negotiation! Instead of something painful to avoid (like pulling teeth), I now feel equipped to prepare myself for all kinds of situations -- from negotiating a speaking contract, to negotiating a deal on a new car. With Vanessa's cheat sheet and framework, she made negotiating feel like something absolutely anyone can learn to do well — a manageable problem, easily broken down into small, digestible chunks: the before, during, and after the actual negotiation. Honestly, I was skeptical that three hours would be enough to offer me much value, but this class was one of the most no-brainer investments in recent memory. I've been recommending it to everyone I know. Brilliant! Also, the downloadable bonus materials alone are far above and beyond the price of admission. The workbook is 116 pages! (My only complaint is that some of the bonus materials (specifically, sample proposals referenced in one of the many downloads) are nowhere to be found yet. Presumably this is an oversight and they will eventually appear. A small complaint, since I did not expect sample proposals going into the class!)

    Vanessa is an engaging, authentic speaker, and had a lot of great insights. I have taken other negotiations classes before, most of them guiding you through the nuts and bolts of the interaction. Vanessa's course has that plus the added element of the science of people (Which is the name of her company). Her workbook was impressive in how comprehensive it was. Well worth the time and money spent on the course.

    What a valuable course! I appreciated Vanessa Van Edwards turning negotiation into a learnable skill. She lays out, step by step: * how to prepare for a negotiation, including a comprehensive worksheet, * what to say (and what not to say) during the negotiations, and * how to follow-up in the most effective manner. I learned skills applicable to complex work situations as well as getting my kids to do more chores. She teaches you how to turn an adversarial negotiation into a "partnership" which not just sounds good, but it is good and she gives you detailed, insightful guidance for how to do this. The 116 page workbook is crammed with practical insights. The 3 hour class and bonus materials are jam-packed with information I can use right now. So worth the investment.
