Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
Great course, very informative. Just would off been heaps better if Ben referred to Lightroom rather than Camera Raw.
Fantastic worthwhile class. Ben is also an excellent teacher. I've taken Photoshop classes in college and this was an amazing refresher-and I also learned a bunch of new techniques.
i've just started this class. i'm using photoshop CS6 and camera raw 9.1.1 i do recommend it, but in the spirit of understanding everything i'm seeing, I've been tripped a couple of times so far and i'm only in lesson 4. for example, why don't i see .xmp files when i reveal in finder like ben does? (because i'm seeing .dng files, which i've discovered don't use .xmp files). which then begs the question, why am i seeing .dng files when ben is using CR2 files, and supposedly i am using the same files? (i don't have an answer to this one yet). i can't move forward until i understand everything, and it feels like something is missing in translation. i'm sure though, in the end, it will have been worth it, though it might take me a few years to get through it at this rate.
I've been a Photoshop phobic for years...Ben has fixed that! His easy-to- understand style builds up the knowledge required just like adding layers in Photoshop, one at a time, until you look down through the layers and realise you've got something quite complicated and you understand all of it. Personally I didn't have any problem with Ben's 2014 version versus my 2019 edition. Fantastic course.
You can't go wrong with Ben Wilmore - I like his teaching style. However, software used (vs. 2014) on this is behind the newest version of Ps 2019 - Five years makes a HUGE difference in the bells and whistles. I've had a difficult time following along when my Ps is lightyears ahead of what he is talking about. I surely wish he would make an updated version for this.
Fantastic class! Ben's explanations are clear and logical, with just enough repetition that it all makes sense. I use Lightroom, not Bridge and CR, but the first few lessons were still very useful and mostly applicable to LR as well. This very practical and well organized class is exactly what I needed to give me the tools and confidence to move ahead in Photoshop.
a little slow, but good course
This is a great class where even someone like myself who has used Photoshop for several years even learned a lot of new things and tips that I wished I had known a long time ago. It is very slow at first and basic but that is what it is, Photoshop 101. One reviewer noted that no one uses Camera RAW anymore, they use Lightroom instead. Well Lightroom is a standalone program, and Camera RAW comes with Photoshop as a plug-in, that is why it is used here and not Lightroom! I am not sure why someone teaching this class would use their track pad the whole time rather than a mouse or pen, but it seemed to slow down the time it took him to demonstrate certain techniques like using brushes, clone stamp, spot healing, and healing tools.
Great class and great teacher.
What I appreciate about Ben is that he recognizes that he is providing a lot of information so he backs it up with a pdf so you can skim through later and find that detail you can't remember exactly how to execute. He is inspirational because you can do what he has done after the session.

What a perfect way for me to learn. I had to purchase the class cause I can't memorize everything he says or take notes fast enough. This way I can play a short piece, rewind it, play it again, rewind it, and so on. Perfect for me!
Ben is great teacher! This has saved so much time of searching videos on YouTube..... This has everything you need to know to start processing your images past the general self taught google searches how too's. He also explains the meaning or how things work and tips and tricks on how to things like the eclipse tool etc.. that I have always struggled with...lol . If you are new to Photoshop and editing this is a must to get you started! Now off to his advanced classes!
Very good teacher!!! I really like studying photoshop with this class. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!
My new favorite photoshop instructor!!!
I'm taking this course now, but there's no way that I can see how to ask Ben a question. That sucks.
I have collected a few of Ben's classes, including Photoshop Beyond the basics, and I am a relatively competent PS user, but I continue to learn and pick up new techniques and tricks from Ben's excellent knowledge, manner and logical approach to his sessions. Very satisfied, and highly recommended. Bente
Nobody uses Camera RAw anymore - we all use lightroom CC. besides that - great course.
Fabulous class whether you are a beginner or have used Photoshop for a while. Ben is very thorough in his presentation and I like that he doesn't assume that you know where the buttons and drop downs are. He covers things completely and explains in detail without boring you or bogging the class down. I am certain that I will be watching this one again. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs help with photoshop or just wants to expand what they already know. Thanks, Ben. You are a great teacher!
Awesome is the first word that comes to mind. Ben is great teacher. He explains things very clearly. There is so much information in this class that my biggest problem is going to be remembering it all; so I am really glad that I purchased the course so that I can go back and review areas to refresh my memory when needed. I cannot say enough good words to describe how valuable this has been to me. Thanks Ben!
Great! Thank you very much!
Ben is a great teacher, he explains things in a way to make it easy to understand. Really enjoyed the class and looking forward to watching his next class which I have already purchased.
The absolute best Adobe Photoshop photography training I've seen! Logical, thorough, and complete workflow. Awesome job Ben Willmore and CreativeLive.
Ben is a wonderful teacher! I knew nothing about PHOTOSHOP and would never have learned this much without his help. I'm Im so glad I invested in this course.
Ben Willmore is the best instructor for photoshop and Lightroom. Thorough, easy to follow, knowledgable. The workbook is awesome. Great course.
