Excellent presentation! A lot of very useful information!!
One major drawback for me, too many interruptions from the lady to the far side, this slowed down the process and created a stop go feel to the process. It felt as if she was competing with Lindsay for attention.
One of my favorites of the 1 light classes on the platform, my gear is just one light one reflector so I can set up anywhere. This was what I needed to see. Very good to the point instruction and talking pace if you ask me.
Very interesting look at natural and strobe/constant light photography. I found it interesting that Felix was able to replicate, using lights, the natural lighting Sue Bryce used. Lessons kept moving, with very few lulls in the lesson plan.
I have taken many classes on lighting and posing. I, for the first time really understand why I might choose my soft box or umbrella and how to build up my light for the effect I want. Great course if you are struggling with light control!
Tony is a great teacher. But this video is now dated.
Great Course, Lots of great information through a variety of examples. Learned tons from this course, and loved the wide variety of lighting setups for Male and Female models as well as groups. Would recommend it to anyone new to portrait photography.
This is very good explanation of studio lighting. Mark thoroughly explains how to use different lighting and how they affect the final image.
OK, I’m only halfway through this 13 year old video on lighting. Other than amazing, wow, and I love this guy, I have a couple thoughts. #1 His explanations are so to the point and effective, I don’t know what to make of it. I’ve never experienced a presenter in *anything* so effective. #2 I view on 1.25x speed so his “uuums” are not a distraction. I’m really sensitive to people that do “ummm.”
Just what I needed, thank you, Ben! Short, concize, relevant, to just take it and run to the next project!
I loved this course! Lindsay spent so much time with explaining each set-up in-depth that anyone picking up a camera could understand how to accomplish their lighting goals. This course covered so many unique (but, most likely to come across scenarios) and how one would approach the challenge and how to successfully accomplish with incredible results, not average-sub-standard or basic results, but above entry-level standards, high-level, money-generating lighting expertise! ZERO laziness in her explanations to the point where she is constantly refining her course in the middle of the 3 days. Her passion gleams throughout each days lessons with so much energy. You know she really wants her students both in-person and through the screen to be successful in whatever type of lighting they choose to dabble in. I am so happy, I have bookmarked, and i'm so happy and fortunate to have this course to reference for hopefully –everrrr. Thanks!
Course was a bit rushed and Ben seemed to skim over quite a lot of advanced techniques. Great for an overview of green screen compositing but not if you wanted to fully learn how to do it from start to finish. Ben's final image composites didn't really blend between subject and background compared to his highly polished work on his website.
Great class! Very well structured, contains lots of useful and very well organized information. I'm new to studio lightning, so I liked very detailed explanations of every topic and the photoshoot part where you could see how all this works in practice. I'm just deciding on what studio lights to purchase and it helped me a lot to decide on what I want and need. I also really liked the new format (no audience, class directed to online audience) and the camera work was terrific!
So comprehensive and detailed. Love the overhead views. I need to watch with my lights set up to practice in real time.
Great classes! Wonderful instructor and tons of useful information! Thank you Lindsay!
Tony is one of the most knowledgable lecturers out there. I think he's great but the equipment sections of the course advertising Elinchrom made me cringe. This is a course that we pay for.
Tony Corbell certainly knows his subject. His knowledge of, and ability to use, light is impressive. But, in addition to his knowledge and the experience he shares, he has a very interesting personality that makes watching/listening to his presentations not only informative but pleasant to watch. Watch any of his courses and, besides learning a lot, you'll end up feeling like you made a new friend in the business.
Firstly big big thanks to Lindsay , such an amazing educator your .
This is just a tremendous class. I love Mr. Corbell's teaching style and appreciate his levity. Most of all, I value the expertise he brings to the subject matter. After watching the entire class, I have been able to make adjustments to my lighting that I love and feel like I have a better idea of what I am looking for with my lights. This is a terrific value at any price.
Sue Bryce and Felix Kunze brilliantly create the lighting that is used in natural lighting, then the same light is recreated into studio lighting, for professional use in this course. This class and 28 days with Sue Bryce are a must for working professionals. Thank you Sue, Felix and CreativeLive.
Excellent class! The demonstrations made so much sense, and Chris teaches in a straightforward, easy to follow style. I learned a lot from watching him work through the setups in real time.
This has to be the most useful class I've seen so far on Creative Live. Its 14 hours of Jam packed photography knowledge and setups and I couldn't have spent the time any better. Lindsey is a world class teacher, i don't think she even said em once during the course. I highly recommend this for a beginner or an advanced Photographer. Thank you Lindsey , i'll be definitely checking out your other courses soon.
This was a fantastic introduction to studio lighting, and one of the best courses I've watched on Creative Live. I've only ever done natural light photos, but I want to learn more about studio lights because I'm creating a basement studio. I'm already a big fan of Sue's approach to portraiture. Now I'm a fan of Felix's soft lighting approach, too. In this course, he demonstrates how to replicate natural light portraits with a simple lighting setup. With a big scrim, a strobe or constant lamp, and v-flats, you can do so much! I'll be watching this course again.
Faultless training by Lindsay as always. Doing in my first studio session on May 1 and feel ready haven taken this course. Feeling confident about lighting and positioning for effect and so much more! So excited to try it out. :)
Awesome class. Lindsey Adler is an excellent teacher. She explained some basic concepts that I couldn't figure out on my own. The section showing 1, 2, and 3 light setups moves pretty fast. So I'll watch that again. This Fast Class was nice for me because I don't have time to do a full lengthy course.
