I just watched the hair wars video and did she show fake portraits digitally imposed on the walls of salons? They looked fake considering that the ones with the hair dryers had the frames OVER the dryers not behind? Why use fake images, did she not really have any images there?

I waited to review until I had watched the whole thing. This class is a mixed bag of applause and criticism. The criticism is mostly about how Bambi conducts herself and her training. She makes a giant infommercial about her supplies and service providers, which is why they underwrite her, but I didn't "PAY" for an infomercial, so that is bothersome. I would also say the evidence of the fortune she has spent on gear, props, a studio, printers, etc. puts emulating her out of the range of 97% of photographers, in fact ahead of 75% of successful pros. It wouldn't seem so bad if she wasn't so insincere about it claiming to be overly frugal. The final negative is the production of the videos, the volume level is about 50% of what it should be. If you crank up your volume so you can hear her at a normal level, when the "email has arrived" notification sounds, you'll about jump out of your seat. Very poor production for a studio like Jarvis has created. So, enough with the negativity, I just wanted you warned. Bambi is dominant, type A personality and speaks confidently and knowledgeably, even if she makes her "preferences" sound like facts. She speaks clearly and concisely on matters of running a business, you get to hear positions from a high-end pro what it's like when you look at life through plenty of capital, gear, and space; thus, the program is not incorrect, but a bit misleading. The program does NOT tell you how to go from rags to riches, it tells you how to get and keep your riches once you have them. There aren't a lot of tips for beginners except "buy your props and materials from odd thrift shops where you can get them cheap". Apart from that, all her gear, lights, building, clients and friends are top shelf and she never speaks of how she went from weak cameras, cheap lenses, and confiscated locations to build up to that point. None-the-less, the information is valuable and on the mark, just don't be prepared to use it after watching this unless you have a $100K start-up capital, a building and a pre-exisitng reputation.

I loved this class! Bambi is very inspiring, warm, caring, and experienced. My favorite thing about this course was that she explained in details how to create your own props and set up your studio in a simple, not expensive way, and also how to approach other creatives to offer collaboration. This is especially valuable for introverts like me., to know fast, non-stressful ways to find partners. And I can't wait to get crazy with tulle and other things to create outfits and props!

This is a great class! I couldn’t stop watching it. Bambi shares her hard-earned knowledge and experience from real-life business, offering practical advice for running a photography studio, from marketing, networking and sales to sourcing props, pricing and protecting you in business. Yes there are some very enjoyable photo-shoots but this course is really aimed at the photographer who is seriously considering entering or wanting to enhance their photography studio business to the high-end market Bambi is a real character! She’s rightly not shy to shout about having become a success having ‘done it my way’. Highly recommended for the astute professional photographer.
