Lighting 101 with SLR Lounge, Pye Jirsa

This course was fantastic! Pye is an incredible teacher. He knows not only his stuff, but also how to explain it and make it simple for the beginner. I knew very little about flash photography when I started, and I'm no pro now, but I understood all the bases and am ready now to start working on it. I can't wait to start trying all this stuff out! I also loved that he is very engaging and funny, making the course interesting and easy to follow without getting bored. I definitely recommend this!

LOOK no further ! HANDS DOWNS this is the BEST lighting video on this here and I watched 100% of them. Pye, truly understands what he's teaching and knows how to articulate the information just as well. Providing different examples for natural and dramatic was extremely helpful. Learning about RCS and when to use it was enlightening. This coarse will equipment you with the information to be successful as long as you apply it. On Pye's Lighting 201 course. He's AWESOME.

Outstanding course! I am an intermediate photographer who has been afraid of light until now! This course outlined everything I needed to know to understand how to start using light to improve my craft. The lessons are well thought out and presented in an easy and understandable style.

This course is great for beginner photographers and anyone who might need a refresh once in a while. Clear explanation of techniques with a little humor thrown in.

If you are learning lighting, this is exactly the class you need. Even if you don't plan to do portraiture, understanding lighting is key to creating compelling photographs. Pye's teaching style is so easy to follow, so well organized, and so thorough. I have taken several other lighting classes with other instructors (not only on CL), and wish I had had started with this one. Highly recommend!

This course is amazing! Pye is an excellent teacher and breaks things down into easily learnable techniques. I've learnt so many valuable tips and tricks. Would highly recommend this and the bonus pdf is worth the price itself.

Great pace and details. On the flash test button on the camera, I have not been able to find it on my Nikon D750. Can anyone tell me where is it?

Watching this on air and I know I’ll need to purchase it. So easy to follow with simple explanations. He really knows his stuff.

Pye...it was well worth your b.tt...Great training. I have learned some key lighting techniques from this training. His voice and training is clear except for his attempt at making jokes and singing...you should hire a new script writer for your Jokes...ha ha ha ha. With that said, if you are not a professional in lighting, you do gain a lot going through this training from front to end. Remember this is lighting 101 so don't expect too much...you want more technical and complexity, wait for Lighting 201, 301 or 401 ...

This course simply explains how, why, when to use flash. GREAT course and a must have.

I love watching Pye Jirsa teach. He really knows his photography and he is an excellent teacher. Also, I like that Pye is very well prepared and he does not "wing it". Great course!

One of the best classes I have watched, lots of information and great examples of different techniques. Pye is very watchable and entertaining. Highly recommended. I'm on to Lighting 2101 now.

The best class for understanding light and lighting there is bar none. Pye is an excellent teacher and the quality of the material provides for a rich and very informative experience. Pye breaks down the fundamentals in easy to digest packets and then elaborates as needed. If there is one class that you watch this is it! Worth purchasing and saving for future use. I would also HIGHLY recommend downloading the saving the PDF of slides that accompany the videos. Again, and can't say it enough, this is THE BEST video to lighting on Creative Live. A must watch for the novice and the expert.

Great class. I have some knowledge of lighting but definitely learned some things after watching this class, Good examples & you'll probably wind up "binge watching" the lessons as they are educational.
