This songwriting course does a great job of breaking down the process in a way that feels both practical and inspiring. The instructor explains melody, lyrics, and chord progressions clearly, using real-world examples that make it easy to follow along. It’s perfect for beginners but still offers useful insights for more experienced songwriters. Some parts could go a bit deeper, especially on advanced techniques, and a few more hands-on exercises would make it even better. Overall, though, it’s a solid, well-paced course that gives you real tools to improve your songwriting.

Great foundational ideas and tips for getting started. Fast-paced, interesting and lively. I was seeking information to write in a professional manner. Joyce is encouraging and down-to-earth. I am more prepared to move forward with my story.

The training is concise and straightforward, and the video recording is high-quality. You can rest assured you'll get value for your money. This course will blow your mind. I am so glad I took this course! I have been writing novels as a hobby for decades and never felt able to take it to a new level. I feel empowered to write now. Everything else I have read about writing intimidated me. I could NOT SEE the process they were teaching. But this made so much sense, very foundational! I could envision the process. I highly recommend this course and supplemental guide. I wish I could ask of the books I pick up to read, "Did the author take this course? because I don't want to waste my time reading this book unless they did!"

Fantastic class. I learned more in under three hours than I have in untold books and workshops. Highly recommended. I would have really liked a downloadable scene card that I could print out to use though, but I can knock one out on excel to carry around and ask the questions and make notes on it while I think. Ms. Cron's class Wired For Story was also excellent. I highly recommend both. I wish I'd learned these things ages about, I might have been published already. All this time I thought it was me, that I just couldn't figure out how story worked and what I was doing wrong, why I always wrote myself into a corner - it was because everyone else teaching it doesn't seem to understand how story actually works either and pass on the misinformation. I find that terrifying for some reason.

This has been the best writing class I have ever taken and I want to say Thank you, Lisa Cron! You helped me make sense of story and helped me find my way back to writing. I was almost ready to give up… because I could not understand how to tell a story. Thanks to you. I’m ready to try yet again! Xo Marie

Lisa is so compelling! I am not a writer and did not intend to study writing but I can not seem to stop listening to her class... highly recommend this course for anyone interested in story-telling.

This course is essential. I started writing and did not know what a scene was. When does a scene start and when does it end? I asked this question in a writing class and people looked at me as if I was stupid. Turns out they don't know either. My understanding of how to tell a story has come along in leaps and bounds. Thank you Lisa.

Lisa is the Genius here. She has helped me so much with how to tell a story. I highly recommend this class.

Oh my gosh, i took so, so many notes. Despite it being a quick and dirty version of the class, I figured out where my main character was stuck and now everything makes sooo much more sense. I'm planning on going back and doing the full length course to see what else comes. Lisa is a spectacular tutor. I loved this course!!

I have been writing - and listening to writing teachers - for years and Lisa Cron is the first person who has laid out the structure of story so that story writing now seems possible!! Bravo!!
