The holidays are quickly approaching which means it's one of the best times to scroll through Instagram for a daily dose of food inspiration. Whether it's stunning tablescapes, mouth-watering plates of home-cooked meals or pies that double as works of art, Instagram offers a true feast for the eyes.

When most people ask me questions about print or digital photography, I quickly realize that they think that all I do is grab the camera, point it at something until that something looks pretty, and then press the shutter button. If you’re just getting into photography, you might think that too.
