Hey, everybody, and welcome to Photoshop week. Today, I Khara Plicanic, am going to be talking with you about Photoshop brushes for beginners. So what's the deal with brushes? They are a whole lot of fun. And if you've never tried using them before, you might wonder what you can make with them besides some basic refrigerator art. But I'm here to help give you an introduction so that you can actually make some work that you're proud of and have some fun along the way. So that's a little bit about the brushes. It turns out that brushes are used for all kinds of things, not just painting, like a fine art portrait, like you might think of. We use brushes in Photoshop more than you may have even realized. We're gonna be using brushes to do some basic, simple retouching. We use brushes when we do masking. Even other tools you might not think of as brushes are actually brushes. Like the Eraser, for example. Or even the Healing Brush or the Clone Stamp are brush engine tools. And you could use...
the Clone Stamp with a watercolor brush if you really wanted to. So we're gonna be doing a little bit of everything. Some of the everyday grind, some of the basic retouching kind of stuff. And then we're gonna get into the fun stuff, and do some watercolor paintings, and a bunch of other things that I think you'll be surprised about. Included with this class, when you purchase the course, you will get the files that we will be working with. So the actual same files that I will be doing here in class. You can follow along at home. And you will also get this bonus Resource Guide, that has links to all kinds of fun and useful things as well as some cheat sheets for using the brushes. We're gonna be working with a very special set of brushes from Kyle Webster, who creates just incredible brushes. And he has some cheat sheets to help you keep track of his brushes. He has made a lot of them. And he helps you keep track of what brush is what and how they all work together. So those are links to where you can find his cheat sheets. And there's also a link to my tablet. Sometimes people ask about the tablet. You'll see me working with a Wacom tablet, just a little tiny one here. It goes where I go with my laptop. And totally not required for Photoshopping and brushing. But it just, I find it a little easier to use than my touchpad, all the time, on my computer. So people are often curious and I put a link to the current version in that bonus materials as well. And last but not least, I would love to hear from you guys. So if you want to find me online, find me on social media, I am at KharaPlicanic.com or @kplicanic on most major social platforms. So you can find me. Say hello, let me know what you thought of class. And let me see all the cool things that you guys make when you follow along. Because there's always something new and exciting to do with brushes and I would love to see what you're up to.
