Canon 70D Fast Start with John Greengo

Straightforward, well-structured and clearly explained. It is a bit dated at this point. For example, there is a new app out for syncing your camera to your phone. That section could be updated. There's nothing negative to say about this course.

Very informative class. John doesn't waste your time - he gets right to the nitty-gritty, and shares useful tips and information to get you up and running with your 70D. His visual aids were some of the best I've seen. This class is well worth your time to become more comfortable with your camera.

I was delighted you sent the email with this class. I didnt know thee camera classes existed, and never saw them cruising all the classes. I just got a new camera and this has been a very valuable learning tool. The instructor is precise, to the point and gives allot of tips along the way. He is quite knowledgeable, easy to understand, and very thorough. I wish Id seen this for my other camera, but with the advanced features I would be lost without it. The print out is perfect for reference at a later time. Good tip from the moderator to print and laminate for my bag. This was the first class for Creative Live that was recommended to me, and it changed everything for me. I even went back and bought the Fast Class for my first camera so that my daughter who was just learning could quickly catch up on the features of my cameras. John is funny and loves cameras and teaching the best ways to use them. Take a look at John's other classes, too, you won't be disappointed.

I had owned my camera for about 2 years and, even though I've read through the owner's manual, I still couldn't quite get the functions down well enough to know them while out and about. This class REALLY helped me become friends with my camera. It's very helpful!

I've had my camera for the while and even though I thought I knew my way around pretty good I felt I could still use some tips. This class was SO much more than I thought. Informative, easy to follow, picked up so much more about my camera and I can always go back if needed. I'm glad I took the class and would highly recommend it to others.

This was a wonderful class. John is a wonderful teacher. I originally bought the camera to do video work and it wasn't as helpful in that arena as I would have liked (but he fully admits to this being geared to photographers). I came back to it as a photographer and I feel much more comfortable and excited about using my camera.

Very informative and to the point. I definitely would recommend this class to anyone with a Canon 70D. Some people just aren't made to teach but you are the exception John Greengo.

I had my Canon 70D camera for 2 years and was stuck in the Auto mode. I tried reading the Canon manual and a few other books on this camera, and I just couldn't get through them or really comprehend the material. This class really helped my understand my camera and the multiple menu options and has really skyrocketed my interest in photography.

I found it very helpful to learn how to use all the programs. The wifi part was a little dated since Canon has already update the program with a new name called "Canon Camera Connect". Also I had a a little problem with the generated ID number to key in since it is newly generated with each connect and not a one time pass word. This was not clear in the video. But I will recommend the creative live programs to my friends.

John Greengo is one of the best down to earth instructors I have seen in all my years of study. Does it well easy to follow and to watch we need more like him!!!

Loved the class & love John. He makes everything so easy to understand.

Unlike the manual he explains what the options are, not just naming them. He also explains the whole custom menus, which I haven't seen anywhere else.

I've been using my camera for some months but (of course) hadn't taken the time to read the manual. This course was fabulous. It not only told me about all the menu choices and what they mean but also when/why to use them. Great, clear instructions and good pace. I would take any Greengo course after this one!

Excellent detailed coverage of this camera. I found it very productive and enlightening. I would have liked to have known if at the time of this recording whether the known issue with Canon 70D focus issues was available and could have been shared.

This course is so much more pertinent and easily assimilated than the regular manual. Even the manual that the instructor created and provides via a pdf is excellent! I am going to laminate a few of the pages and keep them in my photography bag. Well worth the money to take the cameral specific course before the actual photography course you may want to take. That is what I did and the value is extraordinary! It enhances the value of the courses on photography you plan to take... Why? Because when you know your tool better you generate greater results! I am glad I took this course first!

Yes, I can read the manual but it doesn't tell me why to use or not use a certain setting and this class does! I only had one day to get up-to-speed on my new camera (an upgrade from my Canon 40D) and this class did what no manual or hunting for YouTube videos would have done. Now that I've used the camera for a few weeks, I can go back to specific parts of the class for a refresher or further instruction. I'd even recommend this class to people who have had a 70D for many years. The depth of clear instruction is exemplary.

This is the best I've seen. I've taken my setting from Auto to Manual and getting really images. John's style of teaching and explanation is excellent.

This was the first class I took on this camera and am very glad it was available. At the beginning it seemed little slow, but the further along the class the better it got. It probably saved me a ton of time with the exclamations on the parts of the camera were so clear. I highly recommend it to anyone using the Canon 70D.

Friendly, informative, authoritative, knowledgeable, John saved me a lot of time in getting to grips with my new camera, the Canon 70D.

The good news is that this Canon 70D class is outstanding. John Greengo does an amazing job. I have bought several DVD's on the 70D but this class is superior. The bad news is that Creative Live Keeps putting out misleading information on their courses. In this E Mail it says: "If you're still watching, you can always go back to your My Classes Page to pick up where you left off." After several communications with their support I found out that they mean that you can go back to the course but not the place in the 30 minute course or whatever, a "bookmark" as their tech support called it. As an example, lets' consider an airport that has several giant parking lots. They could say that they have a system where if you lose your ticket they will get you back to your car. Sounds wonderful but all they will do is let you know which lot you parked in, not your actual spot. For the sake of clear communication they should drop that claim.

John Greengo won me over last year with the Fundamentals of Photography 2014 course, so it was only natural that when I bought my newest camera I came back to John to introduce me to my Canon 70D. I really like John's style and the supporting materials are first rate. I hope that at some point in the future I may attend one of his classes or workshops in person.

I agree with the other reviews. I was fortunate enough to receive this class free through the Adorama VIP program. After watching this series of videos, I would have been very happy to have paid the course fee. I had purchased a Canon 70D for a documentary project I am creating. This is my first DLSR and with all of the buttons and all the menus, it can be a pretty intimidating camera. I have shot film for many years and have had several Canon point-n-shoots so I am pretty familiar with photography basics. I will have to commend the demo on how aperture and depth of field. Very simple and concise way John explained this part of photography demonstrates what an effective teacher he really is. Just this part alone has made me want to watch his class on photography. The PDF that comes with this kit is great! There is one page that beaks down the menu system. This one is laminated and is in my camera bag. There are also a couple of pages on how to set the camera for shooting different types of events. I laminated these sheets back to back and these are also in my camera bag. Highly recommend this for anyone that owns a Canon 70D.
