We bought a barely used D7000 about 8 yrs ago (it was still under warranty) but due to circumstances, I never had the time to devote to learning how to use it (and my son had it for several years). Finally I have loads of time but the 326 page manual is daunting!. This course was perfect and John is such a terrific teacher that I am now about to undertake his Fundamentals of Digital Photography course. If you have a new or used camera I urge you search through John's courses as he does similar ones for many makes and models. AAA+++

Bought a used D7000 to learn more about manual control and utilizing the real power of the camera over my new D3400. I don't have a lot of sit down time, so this course jam packed all I needed to know and I am very appreciative of that. Thanks John.

Loved the class! The slides & charts were so very valuable, and was thrilled that I could download the course to view again. John, what great instructor you are.

I like the Internet model because one can stop, go back and review what was taught. I too think John went too fast at critical times during the lessons. These are my recommendations: 1. During the Display lesson, John should provide the setting that he is using, so the student can also set the camera to these settings and see what John is seeing through the Display system. 2. During the camera Operation lessons, when John is providing the settings for Landscape, Portrait etc., he really needs to slow down, as the student hasn't got time to set the camera, which is frustrating. It is also poor teaching. 3. John also needs to slow down during the test session. We all know that he kows the camera well, but newcomers to the camera don't. This too makes it frustrating and one feels inadequate. I really liked John's style and the tests he provided. I definitely will take more lessons with John. Thank you, Ryan Friedman.

Great class, although he prefaces that he would be skimming over some things very quickly I was surprised how much he was able to cover. If you are the kind of learner that is particular to the speakers voice he is great.

Really good class. Best thing is that I can go back and review the information. John is an excellent teacher. I've had my 7000 for a couple of years but now I have a much better idea of how to use it.

After 5 long years with my d7000, trying to understand the manual, I was lost.. I knew how to take photos, but my camera knowledge let me down, untill now! wow, I should have done this sooner, I now feel confident to apply what I have learnt fom the other creative live photography courses. This is an essential course if you own a d7000. I am officially demystified and good to go !

Instructor FABULOUS! Course materials COMPLETE. I went into photography (hobby) after retiring. Automotive marketing exec. Retired bicycle, sailboat, motocross, and sports car racer. A benign hobby...No Way. So I bought a Nikon D7000 (used)(, put together rather too full equip ($$$), and then found Greengo. Learned all about the Nikon and now do photo essays of the automotive industry...just for fun. Sign up for Creative Live before they got filled up. Don't wait. Oh yes...not getting paid for the endorsement!!!!! It's the real thing. Peter.

Creative Live user February 21, 2015 I purchased my Nikn D7000 in January 2013. I have been taking photography classes for the past 2 years. I wish I would of known about this class back then. This class is exactly what I needed. I went through parts of the manual which could be overwhelming at times. John Greengo is a great teacher explaining things in a very understandable way. The class has really helped me to become more familiar with my camera, and much more comfortable. I highly recommend this class to anyone that is considering buying a Nikon D7000, or anyone who owns one now and still has questions regarding the menus, buttons etc. I look forward to taking his Fundamentals of Photography class next.

After the rewarding week of watching "Fundamentals of Photography", a must have was this course on the D7000 to make sure I could use all that I had learned from John. I had used the D7000 for sometime but not on a regular basis, so reviewing all the features in such a concise and easy to understand format was extremely beneficial. Strongly recommend this class.

Helped me to bond with my camera, and made more sense of the manual. Like his teaching style.

Thanks Kenporter. This review helped. That's exactly what I was expecting as well.. So I won't buy it till I can really afford it :-)

First off, John is a great teacher who is easy to follow and he gets the information across in a way I can relate to. I loved his Fundamentals course, it was a great refresher for me. This course covers the plethora of features found on the new D7000. They are covered in a logical sequence covering each button, menu selection or setting found on the camera. However, I was a bit disappointed in that this course seemed more like a video manual than a how-to for setting up this camera AND WHY. I'm a competent amateur and I understand how to set up my camera. I guess I was looking more for a WHY one would choose this setting over that one. For example: focus tracking has 5 settings, long to short. I was looking for some insight on how to utilize this feature best. Or when to change the AE-L button for different situations. I think I was expecting too much from this course for setting up this amazing camera. Perhaps they will add another chapter at a later date explaining the WHY when choosing one setting over another. Overall though this course will help beginners grasp the multitude of settings and features available on the D7000, especially if you're not into reading the manual or have difficulty understanding one.
