Day 11: Photo Doodles
Hi everyone this is Ryan Putnam with 28 To Make, and right now we're gonna make some photo doodles. They are super fun. What you're gonna need is a photo, I have a digital one here working off my computer, but you could use any analog type of photos, like from a magazine, you know, like, if you have a photo album still you could use that, you know, pull out those old photos. Use some marker, probably just a Sharpie would work best for those analog ones, but I'm working in Photoshop that works pretty well. And with this exercise you're gonna take your photo, and then you're gonna kind of draw on top of it, draw whatever you want to do. Here's an example, the Kraken, coming out of the bay, over the Bay Bridge. This exercise is really fun to add a different type of voice to the photo. The photo I have is very austere, and it's foggy, and it looks very, you know, tempered. Now, I added a Kraken and it's a Kraken over the Bay Bridge. You could do this to other photos, it do...
esn't have to be as detailed as that one. Here's an example of one with my son who is happy looking out this hole in the wall. So just adding some expressive lines actually very much bring out the intensity of his expression. Set against this kind of cement type of wall. And yet again, another example is on a still life where I took my son's chalk, took a picture and then drew over some tree houses over it. So you could use like still lifes, landscapes, photos, you know maybe, whatever kind of photo you want. If you're like a Drake fan, you could draw something over Drake. So these can get really fun. Super excited to see what you guys come up with, When you share it use the hashtag #28toMake. Let's see what you got. (upbeat music)
