Day 9 - Scribbles & Shapes
Hi everyone. I'm Ryan Putnam and this is 28 to Make. And right now we're gonna work on some scribbles and shapes. All you need for this one is a piece of paper, some markers, some pens and you need to find some scribbles. This is some scribbles that my three year old son did. You can make them yourself but it's fun to get kind of, some uninhibited scribbles. And you can even like, say your dog walks in from a muddy walk. Puts some paper down. Like, let him step on it. Then you have some kind of like weird scribble shapes. So you need this. And then, you also might need like a permanent marker kind of works. Something to over take the scribbles, essentially. And then what you do is look at the shapes within the scribble and try to like make a composition out of it. It could be like this is actually a jellyfish. So here is like the main shape here. And then here's some squiggle with tentacles, I guess they're called. But start to outline that with your big sharpie marker...
. Here's example of one of my son's scribbles. This is some like weird guy, I don't know, bending over? Kinda weird. I'm not sure. And then here's another one. Like his lines were like super energetic. So it got me thinking of like some bee boy dancer or something like that. It's really to fun to like take this exercise to use your eyes. To like see what you kind of create out of like, like a mess of nothingness. You could find something in everything kind of. And it's fun to like use the energy and like the different type of stroke that's all ready there. That's like kind of this one. I like this one a lot. But again, super excited to see what you guys come up with. Share it. Tag it, 28 to Make. And we'll see what you come up with. (bright music)
