12 Pre-Show

Hello and welcome to Creativelive. We're here with day to in a 10 part series today. It's creative. Wow. Infrared. My name is Jim. Kentucky. This is Drew. I'm gonna say it right on Doing really good. Excited for today. Excited to learn about infrared today. Yeah, and we're both photographers. We are have your identity, for I never have, and I'm super excited to learn about it. So, yeah, I saw this insane picture over here. I've been looking at it. I stare at it all day as I'm hosting, and it's absolutely amazing. And I love Hawaii. So I'm hoping to someday capture something like that. Yeah, it's really It's a way that you can really establish a different style of Look when you're doing infrared. And thankfully, Jack's gonna talk us through that all day today. But before we throw it over to Jack, you guys out there on the Internet, we're just gonna do about 10 or 15 minutes a pre show to make sure that you guys out there can hear us and see us properly in the chat room. So, do you want ...

to head over the chat rooms and make sure everything is OK. All right. Thank you. All right, folks, I'm really very, very proud to introduce Creative Lives. Head of photography, Amanda Keynes. She's gonna talk us through some really exciting upcoming classes. So, Amanda, come on out. How there. How are you? You have a seat? Well, we've got. As I said, some really fantastic things come into our channels in the next month or so the next summer the rest of the year. I know, right? That's amazing stuff you'll be hearing about the next couple of months. Yeah, and I know you and I are particularly excited about something that is launching today. Can we talk about that? Let's please Let's talk about that. This has been coming for a while. Our engineering and product teams have been working so hard on it for so long. They are amazingly talented people. And today it's life. So tell us so today we've come up with a way for our students to interact with each other more online and with our instructors. And that's with student galleries. So for every course page on creative lives, you can upload your work to it. We want to see what you're doing out there. All of you have tried infrared. Show us what you're doing. Especially for the creative photography Siri's. I think it's gonna be huge. Yeah, and it's very cool if you guys don't know. We have profiles with creative lives. So if you're one of our logged in users, you actually have a profile so you can start updating that profile. Give us your picture. Put in a beautiful background, but for sure, go to the galleries again. As Amanda said, Every single course page has those galleries in the photo video, so you'll be able to just launch up your work. Now you can get more information on that on the creative life Blawg. So just go to the home page, scroll down, get that link to the blawg and step instructions, load him up to separate course pages and any image you load up to any course. Page will also show up on your profile. Awesome. Great shock your stuff, guys. What? We want to see it. So we've also got a little firecracker coming E a right. I adore her. So tell us about what she's gonna be hitting us up with this time around. Miss Lindsay Adler cannot wait to have her in the house again. She just absolutely killed it when she was here for opposing when I won in January. It she's coming for skin one of one, because if there's anything that every single photographer needs more help with its retouching lighting skin, I'm talking every single skin tone, any skin problems and not, you know, over the top retouching. But just making every one of your clients as beautiful as they can possibly be. Wonderful, fantastic. And I just want to let you guys know tomorrow during lunch, I am going to be doing an interview with one of our instructors who's coming very quickly. Things I can't do his accent. But Felix tells about that workshop. Oh, Felix and Felix is gonna be here next week with Sue. They're going to teach you, Ah, natural lighting and studio lighting because as you guys know, Super Rises, a natural life photographer, she's got no use for studio lining. He looks is going to try and change your mind on that so they're gonna have I believe, about six different scenarios. Uhm soo is going to show us a scenario with natural light and they were gonna flip to the other side of the studio. And Felix just want a teacher. That same set up with artificial lighting with studio lighting and soon is going to be here to ask all the questions that you guys know you have. And you're in too intimidated to ask who has a whole list ready. It's always great having Sue in the House, and one of the things that I love about Creativelive is the fact that, really, I feel like every instructor that comes here and every person that's part of this organization is willing to learn. You know, no matter where you are in air career, it's about education and for Sue rise to walk in tow. And Felix Felix is a master at that studio, lighting his work exactly, and they're gonna learn from each other. It's a really, really special thing. It's been great having them in, so I don't know if you guys know, but we do have two studios here. Creativelive. We have ah studio in San Francisco and then we have another one up here in Seattle. In down in San Francisco, is where they mostly do the craft and maker maker and craft workshops. But we're actually bringing one here. Teoh here to Seattle. It's going to start your own handmade business. Um, look, with Carrie shaping, basically, Kerry is going to give you every single tool you need to start your own business of aircraft. Er, I think this would also apply to photographers whose who want to sell their work online? No, she's gonna explain where you should sell your work online. Should you go for one of the online marketplaces? Should you start your own website? What's the best path for you? And she will teach you to be, have the confidence in yourself to know you can do it. So you guys, I want to let you know it's a crafting and maker and business course here. Creative live in the Seattle studio. So if you go to that course page, you can find out how to join us right here. We've loved have some crafting students out there. Join us in this workshop, so you can either go to the course page or, if you check out creativelive dot com slash front row. You can get all the information as to how to join us right here in the studio. We have a blast. So I am crazy excited for a class coming up. I know the regulars out there in the chat room. I've been talking about this workshop, but we're gonna have white on rice in the house. John and Diane the white on rice couple. So let's let's talk about it. You were talking about in the makeup room this morning. Way you refer to it. I was I'm basically I've been stalking them on Facebook pretty much. And their website? I'm there are a couple there when I get interested in following somebody, especially food photographers, at their skill level, I get really excited, cause there they teach and they cook and they also photographed and they do their own styling and they're so amazing. And they do it together. And the way they work together, toe watch them, you know, of course, we watched videos of them before we book them and the way they interact with each other, they're just this well oiled machine. They're just such a great team. And they produce such beautiful work, and they've got the coolest blawg. Yeah, and they're going to say to all of that, They're gonna teach you how to blawg how to start a blawg, how to create beautiful food photography but also how to turn it into a story to tell the entire story of the food from the kitchen to the plate. So hopefully we're going to be out on location at a restaurant, which we haven't done for hopefully for food photography class before. Actually, you know, showing the cooking, showing the story of the staff. I can't wait. I did not know and I hope I hope you can make that happen. I'm be on a remote location, way down a handful of class. And if we and if you know, there's, you know, there's definitely some cooking involved because I'm trying to pitch a pre show like similar to this one where folks, hopefully I'm going to get out my kitchen tools, my knives, my my stove and prepare something for you. So love to hear the chat rooms. If you would love for me to cook up a particular dish during our pre shows, just please let us know. Lucky for you guys, I will not be part way. We're talking about making hard boiled eggs. You're probably not even devil that you have to mix stuff. All right, So again, another instructor this coming is Amanda Diaz. I cannot wait for this. What? She about her? So, Amanda Diaz, if you just look at, you know, go to Ah Minniti s photography on Facebook. Check out her work. It is unbelievable. And you'll you When you look at her work, you assume that she's got, you know, a $50,000 budget for these shots, right? We're going to teach you how to do those for less than $ 0 wow. What we're trying to work out right now is Amanda actually going out with one of the students before the class to show how to actually go shopping at a thrift shop to get props to get, you know, clothing to get accessories. To be able to do these super high fashion high concept looks when you're just starting out, right? Yeah, it's it's gonna be really cool. I can't wait for that because, you know, I have friends that go thrift ing and I'm like, Where do you find this stuff? I go there and I am. I'm at a loss. Yeah, it's a pretty difficult right, actually, especially for folks on a budget. We have a lot of photographers that are part of our creative community that you know how we do things for under $100 on it's really it's definitely tough. All right, so I'm gonna throw one last question at you. Um, I was in the way of a big production room on the other side of that wall, you guys, and it's literally the size of a huge giant wall. And we have our entire calendar coming up all the way through August. And there's one course that I would one of our returning instructor. What you doing? All right, What can you tell us? Anything glasses coming about, one guy who's who What I will. What I will say is, if you check out the creativelive calendar next week, that we're gonna have a few classes launched that are covering some topics that would never covered before, never covered in depth and some pretty way love the toy. And there's a lot of new toys that were sort of coming around these days. So stop. So, Amanda, thank you so much. Can I can I invite you back in, like, maybe a few weeks or a month and no pressure because you're asking me in front of anything for you. Thank you so much. Appreciate it.

This was an excellent course, clear and informative. I teach Photoshop but learned some new tricks as well as the great info on infrared photography. As one of the 5 people left in the world who isn't on Facebook, a link to his Actions would be appreciated!

I thought this workshop was great, and really enjoy the creative uses of the gopro. There is a gear segment, and gear guide to download. But what I want to know is what card reader he was using. For some reason I can't find it.
