Learn Your Nikon Z7 & Z6 Camera From Focus To ISO And Beyond
The Nikon Z6 and Z7 wrap several advanced features in a compact mirrorless system—but as first generation full-frame cameras, there's no precedent to get a jump-start on exactly where all those features are. Covering both the Nikon Z7 and Nikon Z6 with nearly identical control schemes, this Fast Start class quickly brings you up to speed on using Nikon's new full frame mirrorless cameras. These mirrorless digital cameras offer 4,000 UHD video recording, superb in-body image stabilization, and excellent low light capabilities. But the Nikon’s long list of features is just money wasted if you don’t actually know how to find them and put them to use.
Skip the floundering through menus and join photographer John Greengo exploring the camera’s many features, from customizing the camera to understanding subject-tracking focus. Locate the controls, find hidden features, and put the camera's advanced features to use, whether you are new to interchangeable lens cameras or have shot Nikon DSLRs for years.
This class is designed for photographers using either the Nikon Z7 or Nikon Z6, from those just pulling it out of the box to photographers that just haven’t found all the camera’s features yet. The class can also serve as an in-depth look if you’re not yet sure if the Nikon Z6 or Z7 is the best camera for you. The Nikon camera class covers the camera from the exterior controls to the menu.
What's packed in this Nikon camera Fast Start? Learn the vital information in less time than it takes to analyze the menu—and have more fun doing it too.

Great overview of the Z7 & 6. Hopefully creative live can do an addendum for the Z7ll & 6II on the small differences.
An excellent explanation of the menus and buttons with a real-world photographer’s insight of how and when to use each.
I've had this camera for almost 6 months and I'm amazed at the number of things I learned in this class, now I'm ready to take advantage of all the fantastic options. Great class, content, and pace.
Excellent Class on the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless. Have bought his classes before, & know I'm getting a very knowledgeable teacher. I have the Nikon Z7 ii there is just a slight difference, but overall the same basic material.
AWESOME course! A must for Z7/Z6 owners. Mr. Greengo is an excellent instructor and his presentation is easy to follow and understand. Looking forward to his other courses. Be sure to download the class materials too!
This class is great...covers everything and is easy to follow...the explanations are thorough and clear and the visual support via charts and diagrams is very useful. John is professional, articulate & knowledgeable.A+, 5 stars
This class is a great introduction to the functions of the camera. It was nice to be able to learn at my on pace. I've been looking for a class like this for quite some time.
I really like this course. I have a z6 ll. There were some differences in the menu. My flash controls won’t work. I can not turn the flash on. Says can’t use with current camera set up. Have an sb900 Nikon flash on camera. Am on aperture priority with a Nikon 200 to 400mm lens attached with the adapter.
I am new to photography and the Z6 is my first camera. This class was very helpful and I plan to take more of John's classes.
Thank you very much, John! I've been using Z 6 for 18 months, so far, and now I've got Z 6 II as well and your training about these cameras is just an excellent job. Of course I've been following you in other trainings as well, like "Photography Fundamentals" (or something like that) and I've got some of your books too, all excellent, but with this Z 6/7 training have been useful to learn some new things and to remember others already forgotten. Thanks a lot!.
I just got a Z6 after many years with my trusty D90. This class helped me understand the incredible number of new features in the Z6, and saved me so much time as opposed to reading the manual. John really understands every feature and explained it clearly. Thank you!
Loved the class. Just bought the Z6ii (waiting for it to ship) , so this is a great introduction. Would greatly appreciate it if John could add one more chapter to this class - Tell us about the Z6ii and Z7ii updates. It seems Nikon has addressed a lot of the concerns (particularly 2 card slots), so it might be very helpful for folks trying to decide on which camera to buy. Thanks!!!
I have a Nikon z50 and found most of the settings applicable to it as well.
I enjoyed this class. John struck a good balance between general and specific suggestions and his experience in the field was helpful. Class was a comprehensive orientation to my new camera and I am grateful.
Concise and thorough as always! I get John's Fast Start videos every time I get a new camera body. My only request is that there be an update to the settings document when there is a firmware update. Unlike in the past, camera companies like Nikon and Olympus have been providing owners with some hefty firmware updates, especially with the mirrorless cameras. It's to the point that they are almost different cameras from the original 1.0 firmware and the Fast Start class. Maybe even an addendum added to the end of the class for an update of the new features.
Bravo! A comprehensive introduction to my Z6; Would never have found my way around this camera with only the manual. This instructor also gave sound examples of uncommon aspects of the camera. I made notes and will be returning to the class as I work on getting to know my rig. So glad this class was out there waiting for me to take it.
I had originally purchased John's D7100/D7200 Fast Start class and found it at the time to be well worth taking. This class follows the same format and is a fairly good introduction to the Nikon Z6/Z7, however I was a bit disappointed with the review of the video use of the camera. John brushed over this part of the class very quickly with no details, or demonstrations on using the camera for taking video. Otherwise the course was very helpful and provides a good starting point on setting up and using the Z6/Z7 camera.
Great course! As usual easy to understand. He is a great teacher
Loved this class. This course mothatically walks you through using the Nikon Z 6 and 7. There is no audience asking weird questions while the instructor tries to perform for them. It's just an instructor acting professional.
I used John Greengo's class to learn my Nikon D810 a couple of years ago. It seemed a no-brainer to purchase his class for the Z7. He did not disappoint. This is a perfect class for one with a new camera, or one who has had his camera for a while, but has only scratched the surface. There are SO MANY things to know about the Z7, and John addresses virtually all of them. I highly recommend any of John's classes, but I firmly believe any of his introductory camera specific classes to be a must to anyone moving into a new camera. He is an incredible instructor.
John does an excellent job of going over the Z6/7 cameras and this course is very good at helping to understand the different functions of the many options on these great cameras.
John Greengo does it again. His lectures are always great. Great visuals. A photographer's photographer. Bravo!
I love all of John Greengo's classes. Now he is a Canon man but he gives the Nikons a fair review and his lessons on them are excellent. I have the Z6 and I picked up a several pointers I had not run across yet, so this course has paid for itself already. The only negative I have, and hopefully this is because the course was streaming, but the camera focus was off when the video was zoomed into the Z camera. John may need to give the creative live camera operators a lesson on focusing. Great informative course at an excellent price.
