Good morning, Internet. Hello are good evening, wherever you are all coming from. Welcome back to David Nightingales, Dramatic postproduction. And we're going to start off with some pre show banter and making sure our sound is working properly and her video. So if it's not, be sure to let us now. All right? Yeah. Good morning. How are you doing? Good. Good. I'm good. So I've been having some fun looking at the flicker pool images last night. David gave homework assignment and t look at sort of ordinary objects. Or what have you? And then produce them in what you've learned yesterday in a case and showing before and afters. So, um, there's still time. Teoh, submit your homework on our Flickr pool. od. I'm good. How are you? Good. It energize. The sun is out. I know it wasn't yesterday. It's not coming out tomorrow. Actually a good experience working with you? A little bit of an opportunity again, Like you were mentioning. It was very quick. It's like trying to get your shot set up triggered out. It is really be very compressed in time. It was fun. Part I liked best was to go really fast, but got to see what everybody else was doing and then being able to the images on the monitor and listen to you going to Yeah, one of the benefits. You get a whole sequence of ideas bouncing around. Inevitably, somebody will come up with something really cool. Yeah. Shooting agrees. Good. Did anybody have any dramatic postproduction dreaming? I was actually thinking about my shooters. I was going to sleep last night. I shot the globe fishing quote, and it's interesting. When I was shooting what here you were You were pointing out parts of my composition that I hadn't thought of, namely the I like a better word Rim light on the top of fishing quote, which is something I never thought of. It was really nice. I don't ever get a chance to shoot with somebody else next to me. What kind of thing was not shot? We're looking at night is if you think about the postproduction. What? What? You're gonna emphasizing that shot? You're gonna be bringing writebol, right? And that was the lighting on the ball is crucial importance. The model, the dress, everything else is kind of the background, right? So what you needed to focus on? Where is that frame? What depth of field. If you got what's the line like on it? Right on. It's like this. I know you have 2. shot depth field is probably bit shallow. It right to bring in this texture on the float. Yeah. It was just really good to have you standing there looking at my camera and telling me where the emphasis should be. You? Yeah, I wasn't concentrating on that. So Well, it wasn't so much company. You work on the train, but you're constraint on the whole thing. I was. Yeah, exactly. And you were breaking down the elements and actually the important elements in a way that I need to look in the images that way. Yeah. Yeah, that's kinda what we're saying yesterday that comes with practice thinking about post production. There's kind of a nice shot anyway, but this cope with that shot, it's kind of fade her and being up a textural involved. Yeah. And if you're thinking about that, then that's the element of the shock. Unit becomes training, right? The Syrian security there being a good shot being an awesome Yeah, most of the ones you shot, I think returning something good, but there are things within it. Make it better. So right off the field. You know you need from the back depths of field breaking ball itself. But we look at it like right now, okay. And we just want to remind everybody we know yesterday there were a ton of people watching, and there are people who had some issues with the high ribs. We've also got many PSD s, which are kind of low rez files with loads and loads of adjustment layers. I think we're up to about 88 of those names I'm so vast amount material on. Ive been following davids work and tutorials for around a year now...well ever since i took up photography as a hobby. Im a lifetime member to chromasia.com and have been working through his tutorials when time allows. There is no fast track approach to this subject but i wanted the best advice i could get. Ive always found david very approachable over the internet and is always willing to offer advice on questions ive had regarding all manner of photography questions, being a noob. Whilst the tutorials are very comprehensive and well written sometimes its hard to digest this by yourself. So when i heard that he was presenting a three day course over the net. I jumped (well not quite more like sat down) at the chance to make sure i was able to watch the course (didnt manage that either). Sometimes its better to have a monkey see monkey do approach to walk you through different aspects of photoshop. And after the first day of the tutorial, so much information sunk in more so than it did sat reading through the tutorials. Although i didnt get to actively sit and watch the remainder of the last two days i did purchase the course so i can refer back to it time and time again. I can highly recommend this course, its concise, well planned and enjoyable course to watch. When you subcribe to the course you even get the files david walked through so you can practice yourself. I cant really praise the whole package enough...but its an invaluable reference course and couple this with chromasia membership you have a package that will dramatically improve your processed photos, the way you think about composition and importantly your camera settings! Great stuff

David’s Dramatic Post Production Workshop is an excellent source of both education and inspiration. The Photoshop instruction is excellent and was my primary reason for watching the workshop. I was very surprised by how thought provoking the shooting sessions in the alley were and the lasting influence it will have on my own photography. Firstly the preparation for the session in the alley was interesting – having a goal and a purpose in mind. The fact that they are producing interesting work to illustrate the points and techniques in a rather dull alley helps emphasize the learning. On my next shoot after watching the workshop I definitely made adjustments in my approach. The discussion, examples and instruction on the goal of making an image more dramatic is very inspiring. It really makes me step back and review my own work to see how I can approach it from a different perspective

The workshop was a great opportunity to learn to be more purposeful and intentional about the creative process at the post-production stage. I found the second day of the workshop – where David goes into his own approach in Photoshop – to be the most valuable for me. I look forward to putting this new found wisdom into practice into my own work. Thanks David!
