Exercise: An Emotional Story
So we've talked about tapping into your inner storyteller and understanding your audience how to embrace emotion and the power of visuals. It's time to put these skills to the test With another quick exercise. Remember the four x 4 model exercise, we looked at the flying etiquette dataset from Fivethirtyeight and you thought up some headlines, image ideas and story boarded some cafe content. Let's continue with this data since you've already put some time into looking at it and getting creative with it. But this time your job is to get to an emotional story. All I want you to do is to again think about your audience and goals, then come up with an idea for an emotional story that will resonate with them. Use some of the techniques you've learned in previous lessons in this exercise. You want to storyboard the concept and you should also write down not just that basic storyboard of panels with topics that convey the idea, but also include keywords concepts and storylines that capture sp...
ecifically how you're going to turn these numbers into an opportunity to activate emotion in your audience. Really focus on this above all else, if you even want to write some of the story, go for it, the more real you make it in this exercise, the better it will mimic a real experience. So the more value you'll get from the exercise, remember focus on injecting emotion into your story as much as you can
