Your Email is a Gift

Your email is a gift that's the way to think about it it's a gift okay it's a hand crafted gift that you make for your favorite fans and give them either once a week or twice a month what I was going to fit into your schedule that's what you're making for them and you're making it just for them okay that's best lines to think about it yes I see everybody writing that e want tio knowledge people in the chat room as well how what a mind shift that is from when I started the conversation about feeling guilty and bad about sending people something that will end up in their in box but we all know that feels to have that thing that we savor yeah so thank you yeah that is a total that's all he had shift right and it just about figuring out what that's going to be and it takes time to figure it out it's not going to come to you like tomorrow it's going to be something that you're going to experiment list and you're going to try and you're going to look it up other people are doing and you're g...

oing to think about and tweak over time until it really feels like it's the right thing all right let's talk about describes every time you send an email newsletter people gonna unsubscribe that's what happens if this happens every time you can't take it personally so on male champ, you can stop a saying, which I think is just harmful where they send you an email every time somebody described don't okay, you don't need to know, you know, you could have mailed trips an app on my phone, and so I can click over and see who answers guides and you, they tell you the email address with people it's not blind, I mean, you know who it was, um, so it's, just part of it and you've got to kind of think about it, you know, in a way, tish shift you're thinking about it, so I have seven thousand plus people on my list. I send out une email newsletter every week I get about one hundred fifty new people subscribe every week, depending on what happens by blogger and something goes by rolls a lot more, whatever but it's one hundred fifty on average and about twenty people on subscribe every week. Most of those people will hit that I just don't want this anymore, but you know, when they say why some people will write a little tirade about how they like what upper can't stand you, which is fine most people want to that bill just say no, thank you, but you need to think about those people as those people who you were annoying you don't want to annoy anyone, so I'm glad they're gone like maybe they'll come back later. There's always an option to come back have had people leave and come back or maybe they just prefer to see your instagram, they love you on instagram and that's enough no problem, maybe it's never wanna hear from you again? I mean, whoever, whatever it is, if they don't want to get that email and un subscribing, maybe their inboxes so cluttered and they just I couldn't handle it and they just undescribed everything ok? You don't want to be annoying people so that's great that they have let you know that it's not for them because they're not going to buy anything anyway, at least not through that channel. So okay, not a problem, but I just want you to know that it happens to everybody and not to get worried about it. As long as the subscribe numbers are higher than the unsubscribe number one, fifty two, twenty on a weekly basis, can't we come out on top? So don't worry, okay? Um, so no more guilt. We're not going to feel guilty woman press send uh, we're not going to feel bad that were cluttering people saying about email inboxes, we're going to feel joy knowing that we're giving people something valuable

Abby Glassengber's class is a great tool for beginners. Abby encourages us to focus on the goal of our newsletter, and to incorporate aspects of newsletters we enjoy into our own writing. A particularly useful section of the course was the description of different content types that work well for e-mail marketing. Those of us who dislike "salesy" content are given the revelation that our newsletters are a gift to our most dedicated fans. With this in mind, putting together newsletters becomes a more thoughtful and fun process.

A down to earth and honest voice. I found this quite relaxing and a really nice class to get rid of those fears of email marketing. I love how the audience can participate and questions have been asked.
