Quick Mask and Feathering in Photoshop®
So I'm just going to select the sky and if this is just to show you difference because you might have gotten frustrated this tool before and so I just want to show you I've selected this area with a quick select I'm an attack you that takes me to quick mass mode I just want to show you what the mask looks like because I want to show you the difference in some technology so q quick mask there's the mask when you go underneath the selectmen you now first of all, it used to be that if you didn't select all you couldn't access you could add a border but all of these were dim so now these air all active if I do a select all aiken smooth I can expand aiken contract and I can have a feather so that's cool also I can choose for example, if I want to add a feather and I wanted to be sixty pixels I can choose where I want those sixty pixels to be I can choose. Yeah, you know what? I want you to feather everywhere all the way around all of the selection but a lot of people didn't like this and th...
ere was the yelling okay that's why we have this option and by default now it is different we toggle off the option that says, you know, I really think if you have all this guy selected and you want to add a feather to soften this area, you probably just want to soften along the horizon, where it cuts through the image. So now, if I do sixty pixels, it feathered it. You didn't see a change. If I go to quick mask mode, though, you'll see see how it's kind of feathered right there. You can see that, but it's not feathered along the edge, so that tool works differently, and I think that should avoid the yelling that's a good thing, as far as I'm concerned, so we'll do que again. Teo, teo, get out of quick mask. I think that's, actually all I wanted to show on that was just that tool.
