Introduction: Photography 101 Workshop

I wanted to start by reiterating a little bit about the differences between today's class and tomorrow's class, just my sort of telling the story of how the moms with cameras class, even started. We have one of our favorite clients. We would photograph her in her family every year, and she had no SLR. And every time we photographed them, she would always ask Jules for advice. How do I read this history? How do I do this? And so when they asked her what we had a class, would you be interested in taking this class and having your friends come? So that's one of how it started that we started with one client? She asked all of her friends. Just like Hillary here has asked all of her friends to come. And we created a course for friends with technical aspects, creative aspects, and what we found was it actually turned into a marketing tool for us. We ended up getting clients we didn't expect in the class was growing, so that was really fun for us. But then also started happening was that phot...

ographers would ask us about the class like, Well, how can we teach this class. Can we have a class like that? So jewels created a little kit for them, and we've been helping other photographers to do the same sort of thing. So that's what this class happened. Have this how this class happened that we're gonna recreate Ah, moms of cameras, workshop class. And we'll talk about it tomorrow. How we marketed it in different ways that we didn't like that. So today's classes for you moms who want to learn how to use your camera better. And if you're a professional photographer, you wanna learn their take note on how to keep such a class and take notes from Jules. She's very good, educated, very proud of her. You and we're gonna somebody just run this like a real workshop. So we are in. This is Hillary's living room for all matter. Perfected beautiful living room Hillary way usually do is we'll run it like a girl's night out Our girls evening out and so we have delicious treats and there's wine. And so everybody could just sort of hang out. And the first thing I want to do is think Hillary for hosting in this It is a beautiful bag from Nepal. Actually, one of my favorite photographers, digi Tal for gave us that bag. It's for a foundation in the poll, and then inside the bag, if you open it up, is some some swag from Miracle who is a photographer in Seattle. And in there you won't open it and see that there's something there. DVDs in there about how to use your camera, how to photograph Children and then another book about babies. Babies, which may be in there. Wait todo by the time is and give you all a little bit. This is a little bit about us. You want to pass this around a little bit about our photography. And Jules has been photographing since she was young young girl, remember 12 years old and so as our sister, I it's camera, sort of like an extension of her arm and those of you who don't know Jules, she fairly buried extremely successful wedding photographer. But the wedding photography capitulated into portrait photography because all of our bride started having babies, and so it's sort of a natural progression to do that. So then we developed our family portrait photography. That way, Angel's has been featured in lots of magazines, including people and a lot of the industry magazines, and we've done a lot of speaking for other times a few things. But the main thing is that she's a really good educator, and when she brought me on, she had to take me everything she knew in terms of how to photograph and how to use my camera as well. Um, I am also a mom. I have two little girls, one is seven and one is just turned. 11. Kim was on, but like so anyway, do we want to go around really quickly and savor one's name now for the no or Just go? Yeah, let's just go really quickly. And yes, this is my mom, Leonora and I. And we did that the preventer. But just in case. Mom. Three kids e o. But I think we should just since an inmate indicates, is my name. Hillary and my kids are seven and nine and it's Aaron and my kids are H and 20 months. My name is Sarah, and my kids are four and two. My name is Stacey, and my kids were five in 10. My name is Gretchen and my kids are 98 and five year old twins. Name's Robbie. Born smart people so actually forgets. Mark, I was going to show you that. I know. I don't think I met any of you before except for Hillary. So we're just gonna have a really fun little slide show. So you consent it, get a sense of my work and then to get us started. Sunny Day. I want to get with Booth Bitch way. Make it so much better if you choose out you something way, Ever way Minamoto the slide show company that we use It's an emotive dot com and they're still great and make it really easy to do so I chose both for professionals and for mom.
