Changing Snap Speed and Lenses
those of you that are watching from the comforts of your own home. I hope you have become Snapchat fools. And I hope that your imagination and creativity or sparked to just do some really cool stuff. Now, speaking of really cool stuff, when we were talking about the features and functionality, there was one piece that I wasn't able to access at the time. For some reason, I want to show it to you now. And it is Let's go live there. Good. So we're gonna shoot a quick video right here. Actually, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna show you how Johnny does the whole Oompa Loompa thing and how I did my shadow talking back to me. So I'm gonna do a video. Okay, so that's one at several extra fun things that you could do. I've even tried doing a snap where I would talk backwards and then use the backwards filter to see if I can get it to sound right forwards A lot of work. It didn't It didn't work out too, right? So let's talk about one mawr really cool feature on here. And that is the lenses on. It was referred to by Sue. We didn't get to it before, but I want already have your phone out because everybody is going to try this. I want you to turn the camera towards you. And then what you're gonna do is you're just gonna tap your nose. You should see a wire frame come up. When you do, just tap it. I'm gonna exit it again. I'm gonna show you one more time. Just watch what I do here. Tap it and you see a wire frame with wire frame. Is the facial recognition on Snapchat. And once you've done that, you can swipe at the bottom. And this is where the funny lenses show up. So they change pretty pretty regularly. Let's just go through some of them. A lot of them are. I don't think heavy stuff going to come down for some time now. This allows you to do some really cool character stuff. I'm gonna I'm gonna skip over the face swaps from the moment just go to the single ones that we have butterflies in my hair and we have I feel like my name should be Morty. And like, I should be betting at the track in Florida or something. Some of them are activated by opening your mouth or raising your eyebrows. I'm from an audience there. Oh, my. Okay, there's that. Um Okay. Apparently I I have no nos have Have you seen my nose? Go ahead and that Mutual your phone for the moment. You could go and play with it. Just mute it. This one makes everybody prettier somehow. Ah, here we go. Mr Bunny. Oh, evil bunny. Ah. Okay. So these air gonna vary. There's one right there. Things are getting weird at creativelive I'm gonna post that one. Things were getting weird and creativelive. I try to incorporate the lenses into my stories. And like Johnny was saying, he builds characters that he uses. Now Snapchat will rotate through these and there's also sponsored lenses. So a ah corporate sponsor will buy a lens, for example. Ah, Blizzard Entertainment came out with their game World of Warcraft. And so you would go on and you would turn into an orc, you know, through this, and you would see their sponsorship there on the page with it. So it's really smart because people are using the lens and their advertising on their own Snapchat for the brand that created the lens. Now let's try see what's at the end here. Um OK, so this is one of the ones that Snapchat is infamous for. Thief yukking rainbow. It only works when you open your mouth so some of them are triggered by opening your mouth. Others were triggered by raising your eyebrows, and it will always tell you on screen what to do to trigger it. It used to be prior. Teoh felt we're going down the road here now Watch out Hope hit me an armadillo. There's another one told you were getting weird. And this one encourages drawing in the filter itself. It comes with this, so I don't What does it want me to do? Here? There? I never looked so good. Okay, so there's your standard lenses. And again they will rotate. They will change their always come up with new ones. They'll put up special ones for different holidays or events. Then we have the face swap filters. Who wants toe play the victim here to help me with face swap. I need a volunteer one. All right, so we go to face swap, and this is what it is right here. And basically, you position yourself and look, it's changed our faces. So I'm him and he's got my face. It's not perfect, but it's kind of creepy, right? It is just a little bit. So we could actually. And now we're demonstrating the ah face swap here. And we're all afraid we're demonstrating. Swap here and we're okay. Glasses off. Oh, that's better. So you could actually have two people on change, you know, doing face swap with the fox ears on. And then there's, uh oh, this is kind of fun. So with this face swap, you can actually pull in somebody else's face. There's my friend Erin. What's so by pulling in? Ah, other people's faces, It imposes them on. There's David C. Um, go here. Maybe I can find one of my Can I impose myself? Oh, here we go, my cartoon face. Oh, that's just that doesn't work at all. Let's try it this way. Let's try this, Okay, without glasses on. Oh, that's just that's weird. That just didn't come out right at all. I have imposed a caricature of myself that did work. No, that one does not likes, tells Mary. So, anyway, you get Thea the feel for it. You can do some really creative, clever stuff with, uh with lenses and have a lot of fun with it. So I encourage you toe play with them. And if you look every day, you might see new ones there that will spur different creativity. And yes, which question selling? How do you save them? You add them to Snapchat just the way you can either take a photo or hold down on it and make a video, same as you would record any other. OK, so it's just basically it's putting a layer over your face before you hit the video, you take exactly.

OMG! This was SO awesome! I've been trying to 'get' Snapchat for a while and it wasn't clicking. Watching Joel pulled it all together. He was funny, engaging and made it so clear!
