low Internet and welcome to Creativelive. My name is Ken Klosterman on My name is Jim Kotecki and we are your host today. This is shooting and selling hybrid photography with Mr Will Crockett. I already feel full of energy because this man is full energy. How are you doing this morning? I am fantastic. You know, I feel exactly the same way. He's like a little power pack for me. Absolutely were. It's gonna be It's gonna be exciting. Three days that it is. What I think is really cool about this workshop. Jim, is that hybrid photography? When when this course got put on the calendar, I didn't know what hybrid photography waas you had to go look at Look at Will's website and it's not something we've ever done here. I'm quite applied before. Yeah, definitely For me. Will has been really convincing me that this is the future. This is the future of where portrait's and business cards are going to be going. Yeah, it's pretty fun. I'm looking forward, Teoh, not just learning about what they are...

, but then seeing will put it into action and we're gonna be creating I think one of the big things is learning how to sew as well. So that's gonna be great. Hey, you guys out there on the Internet along with you in our workshop today, we also have a couple folks in our in studio audience, so we're gonna get to meet them. So you guys, if you could let us know who you are and where we can find you online, that would be fantastic. Let's start with a familiar face right here. My name is Lorenzo. Hell, no need to adjust your sets. I'm here. I am really From Atlanta, Georgia Allow live in Bellingham, Washington. I'm a student at the Art Institute of Seattle, about seven blocks away, primarily our sport shooter and same thing. When I heard about hybrid photography, don't think I could think of was I had a football coast that wanted to make me a quote unquote hybrid line back. And I'm like, OK, you know what it was. But it turned out to be a lot of fun. It was almost like a headhunter, in a sense, but now it's like, you know, hyper photography. I want to know more about it cause I think I can interspersed that with, you know, with a lot of sports that's perfect. My name's percent. Um, some A brand identity designer, rocketman Creative, where I work with a lot of small businesses, helped them launch her identity and propelled her image. And I could be found online at rocketman creative dot com and on Twitter at Propel Your Image and some most intrigued by the whole hybrid movement as an extra service that I could provide my entrepreneurial clients as a sales tool to help them connect with your audience is cool. And I think that's really cool that we have. Both of you are coming at this from a little bit different perspectives and both incredibly valuable on representing folks who are out there online watching at home who are very in similar situations. Well, I think this is our pre show Everybody. We have a few minutes before we get started here with the actual show, and we have a special guest that is here, along with Will Crockett. His name is Louis Malle gone, and he is going to be. You'll see him rot lease three days he's gonna be with will assisting will. But yesterday, when we're setting up for the show. We have this. They set up the super cool lighting structure that I had never seen before. And so we said, Why don't we get this is not part of the class is not a lighting class. So we said, Why don't we get and come out and and Louis to come out and show us how to put this together? Because we know that that question is gonna come up out there in the chat rooms. Indeed. So, Louis, come on out. Welcome. Pretty Oh, have you? Yes. You do have a very interesting light here and go ahead and grab it. Here we go, then the shock. We see that you can. We see that guys were looking good. So to me, it's like Frankenstein's monster. It is. It's a little bit more guys hurts a little bit put together, but it's the tools that we're using. Every job is a tool. It's what we it's working for us. So as you can see, it's similar to a soft box but doesn't have the siding on the ground it right. I'm gonna go ahead and grab and start showing you just how to set this guy up. Absolutely. We got a couple things over here, right? What do we grab first? Go and grab. This is the cheetah stand that we just like to use C 12. Okay, next 12. Cheetah Fancy 12 Cheetah. Stand on. What's that guy? This guy is a crossbars called our light. Smarter from color mole tonight. Smarter color. Color of all is the company. It's by a guy named John Fitzpatrick. Seldom is designed as him and will crocket. Yeah, innovators, that putting this thing together so doesn't see where you gonna put that on top. Grab Our led is that we have here, sir. Great. As you could see, what's gonna plop him up on here And what's the weight? Weight capacity? Because this this is really heavy duty. It is. We actually haven't hit the limit yet because we it's pretty heavy duty. We haven't put anything that's too heavy on the that would cost many problems. But what we're throwing on here is too cool. Looks led panels. Do you guys sandbag when you're in the field? We typically do. Safety is always first for us. And that's one of things that we definitely keep in mind. What's next? Next is one of these polls. Yes, to my tent poles as well as my time. Yes, please. Thank you. That's a little magic. So, as you can see already got my little nub clamp on here, but they already attached form. I'm gonna go and plot that on their good And these parts that you guys have built these air from different companies, you know? And it's sort of conceptualize who conceptualized the originally Will Crockett and John Fitzpatrick. We're trying to find a light that were gonna be used for portrait's That were a little bit different. I were playing with Led is because, as we know, flash goes out. Led is there? I'm sorry. Flash goes all the way around. Led is go straight out straight out. Okay, so we need to find a way to modify the lights. That's kind of appropriate for lead. Got it going. Plot that on there. You could hold these for me? Absolutely. Thank you. Although your trusty assistant Thanks. I'm usually that guy e I wanna play circus music that way. Could almost take these fishing if we really wanted Teoh. Certainly you look like you've done this before. I have We take these around these air used in our studio over in Chicago as well, and get taken our location for any stuff that we need to use. On top of that, I'm going to take this thing. This is a three by four inch in. The fun thing about this little set up is that it gives us the ability to change sizes. So if you need a two by two soft box, you just grab the according poles and the soft diffusion for it. But you need It also gives us the opportunity to change around what we call the diffusion dynamic, which we'll talk about later on so we can change the diffusion that we have on our led panels, as well as the diffusion that we throw upon it. Rods. Where can I get myself a Louis? Think that you could teach a class here, Wait kind of our someone was on the budget, which a lot of our students are as far as Renji renting the equipment yes is partially they rent part of it and then purchase part of it. You know, it's actually a lot more affordable than you think. As far as the crossbar light stands, everyone. Tiger has gotta have a lecture. Already led panels can get a little pricey. But when you know what you're looking for, you'll make the right choice. All right? Fantastic. So it actually is pretty affordable. Look at that. I grabbed this one, put it on the side, and there it is. Wow. Fantastic. Like I was saying earlier, led shootout flesh goes all around. And funny enough, we don't need to bounce the light back in right now. A Sfar, as are these adjustable for color, temperature and brightness. They are there. The cool looks by color, one by one. So I can adjust intensity as well as a color temperature. Okay. And you set this up. We were doing instructional stuff while you were setting it up, but usually it's like 2 to 3 minutes, Correct? Yeah, it's quick. Cool. Well, this is beautiful. It's really cool. What do you guys think? Let's turn it or what? The best thing is. Just review again. What these pieces are because everybody wants to know what the different companies are that make each of these since you put it all together. Yes. Like I said, this is a cheetah C 12. By cheetah stands, we got to cool looks one by one, panels and the light smarter from colorful. And those were kind of just three pieces that we put together to make the light that we use every single day. Cool. And we are We're gonna be seeing this in action right in the first segment. You are actually were later on, when we'll just talking. Portrait's exactly what would be using. Fantastic. Thank you so much.
