Bonus Video With Purchase: How to Pin

So now let's talk about the fun stuff, how to actually pin and you can see. Now I'm using the new look. And if your Pinterest looks any different than this, you probably just haven't updated or upgraded to the new look, which you can simply do by going to the top right and you'll be able to see upgrade to new look if you haven't already in this menu system in the top, right. But for most of you, you'll probably have a Pinterest home page that look similar to this, And Pinterest is constantly kind of playing within tweaking their home page, so you might have a little bit of a different look. But it should look very, very similar where you might see group board imitations. If you have some over here in the top left, they might suggest some friends for you to follow from your Facebook or from other metrics they have on Pinterest. But in most cases, if you hover over any of these pins, you'll actually see the pin it button pop up, and that's where you can actually click and select. If you ...

already have a board created that you want a pin to you can just scroll down and select whatever board. If you want to create a new board, a new topic area, you can simply type in this area and click create. But you can select whatever you'd like and go ahead and type in a description. And as you learn through various places in this training, we always talk about adding four things. Call to Action's links keywords and win appropriate prices. Now this isn't as important when you're repeating someone else's content, but when it is your content from your site, you really want to optimize it as much as possible. So let me show you what I'm talking about. So that's how you would reap in something on your account. But say I wanted to actually go to my website. I wanted to go to my home to core business luxury monograms. I would just open a new tab and load my site and what you will need to do. I mean, you might already have a feature on your product pages that allows you to pin directly from them. If you've updated your site, which I really do recommend doing, but something that you should have is the little pin it button in your bookmarklet or a little pennant extension in your browser. Now, depending on whether you're using fire fox or safari or chrome, it's all going to be a little bit different. But to get this great pennant button, you can go to the Pinterest home page and you're gonna go over here to the top left and go all the way down to about. So when you click down here and go to about, you will see a little menu system in the top right of Pinterest, hopefully will still be here. Sometimes it does move around a little bit, but you're going to go ahead and go to goodies hand when you scroll down on this goodies page. This is where you will find the pin it button, and in most cases you can simply just click install. Now I'm in chrome right now, so if you're using chrome as your browser, I just click install now, select add, and you can see I've gone ahead and have that pin it button in my browser Now, depending on you know what? Like I said, which browser you're using, you can click for the Pinterest Bookmarklet. Sometimes you can actually just click and drag, So I'm holding it down the whole time and put it in my my browser just like that. So the bookmarklet is where you just click and hold down and just dragged that all the way up to the top like that. So two ways to get this pin it button. But this is very important for when you are pinning content off of sites that don't have a pin it button or for pinning videos off of YouTube. You wanna have this pin it button. So I've gone ahead and added that to my site so that now when I'm on my product page, I can either, you know, click my little pin it button that I have, or I can use this right here and pin products or content directly from my site so I could do the same thing for blawg posts or videos or things like that on my website. So again, this is where you'll see you're gonna want to, you know, select whichever board you'd like. And this is where you want to really optimize your description area so I would do my call The action which is click here to customize you're and hear my keywords monogrammed pillow, any keywords that you want people to find and search your content for on Pinterest. Now, I'm also going to do a colon, and what I'm gonna do is actually put the link to this exact product page. Now, of course, I could go ahead and just type in luxury monograms, which is my site. But we see a much higher conversion rate when we linked directly to a product page. So what I'm gonna do instead is actually copy the link for this. I'm gonna highlight it. And for me, I'm going to do command, see? And then I'm gonna find that. Where did it go? Right there. Find that little pin and put that so I just pasted it. Control or command a command paste. And I went ahead and copy and pasted that. And now when I pin it, they will automatically add a link. We can click see it now to go ahead and see this. But now I have you know, I've got my key words. I've got my link and oh, I forgot to add a price So if you want to go in and actually edit your pin, you just click on this little little pencil. I guess it would be, and I'm going to add a price. Now let's see, What do I sell this for? $75. So I'm going to go back to that pin right there. 75 and usedto have price banners on Pinterest. So if you actually added a price like this, they would add a big price banner on the top left. Or you might have seen the little black and white button in the top right? They're not actually putting prices on the image anymore. But you still want to put prices in your pins when you have a product or a gift or something like that, because it will add it automatically in the gift section. So I'm going to click, save changes and you can see now I've got that price, which means if I was to go to the top left and go down to gifts so you can see there's a gifts category right here, you will actually be categorized in this gift section, and the only way to be categorized in the gift section is to actually type in a dollar sign and the numeric value of your pen. So you want to do that even though it doesn't show up in the image of your pin, and you probably won't be able to see it because Pinterest is constantly refreshing these pins showing different things. So just because you type in your price isn't me. You're going to be able to see it, but it will be in this gifts category and shown as a result, as a randomly re select and show new, uh, new products and new things that have prices in the pins. So that's all good stuff to know in terms of when you're pinning getting that little, you know, pin it button in your bookmarklet. But I also want to show you how to upload something from your computer. So if you had an image or something that you wanted to pin, but it wasn't on a website, it was saved. Your computer. You want to click this little plus button so you click right there, plus, and you can now choose whether you want to create a board right there or on. Here you go the pin it. But if you haven't installed that, you can click right there. But we're gonna choose Upload Pin actually from my computer, and I can actually choose file and from anywhere my computer So I could select something from my desktop of anything like this I could actually just select click open, and then same process all over against, like, the board. I want a pin it to and add my description and collect and click pennant. So now we've talked about how to actually Repin something by hovering over how you can install that pennant button and also how you can select this little plus button and pull up something and pennant directly from your computer.

What an incredible amount of GREAT information that Melanie gives in this course! I couldn't watch it all live, but I saw enough in about 30 minutes to know I had to have it and so I bought it and it is worth EVERY PENNY! I can't wait to start utilizing all the great info to make my Pinterest boards work for me and have more fun pinning! Thank you CreativeLive and Melanie!

So glad I saw this and got it to keep. With just a few tweaks, I turned my non-active boards into active boards and quadrupled my followers in just a few days. This spilled over into site traffic AND major lead generation for my mailing list. Thanks for the inspiration, Melanie.
