Additional Production Hacks

a few additional little cheats and things that you can dio. These are really great for the IPhone or GoPro. It's, uh, I think it's like an octo pod something. It's a tripod with little bendy legs. That's the technical term. These bendy legs air super great, because let's say you're in a location that's not flat or where you're doing it. Like I don't know. I'm not gonna pretend to guess what kind of video you're making with this, But you can wrap these around like a pole or a table leg, and it's got your phone in it. And they have different attachments, like I said, for different phones or GoPro's so you can wrap it around and it would stay. Or you can prop this up on your dresser and have it talk to you. It does look like a little robot. I am your phone incoming Teoh telling a problem. Squirrel. So that's that's really fun. Um, and for a tripod and really functional, I think, by 10 to $20 of the most for something like that, you can get more substantial tripods for something like a Mar...

ylise camera, compact camera or DSLR. I really hope If you have a DSLR, you do not get this tripod. This is basic, probably $20 max, and these leg will go up and down so you can adjust the height. But it won't go really high like you would not be able to put this on the floor and put the camera get, like, crotch level on. And then also, I have, like the worked in nursing story, one of my clients. Last year's was the Powells from Extreme Weight Loss Makeover edition. So they have a TV show there, like there used to be huge professional crews were doing video and I don't remember if I just couldn't find it. This is the only tripod I have some, like trying to record a video for them. And it's all like, I mean, not only was it creaking the whole time, I'm gonna get team attack. Not only was it creaking the whole time, you could hear that, but like, do you see how not to do that? So, I mean, they got comments on their video on their YouTube channel about, uh, who's the cameraman? I know it was really bad. Go ahead, Kyler. I actually had the same one says good for Meeks. Um, short when I'm sitting, but the actual the top actually lift up, so goes higher. Yeah, that I'm glad you said that. So this part right here you are Twist it. You can you can raise it or dismantle whichever. Whatever mood you're in. Hoax. Um, yeah. So this is ideal for stationary. Do not move. Um, you could do this and then this and then come here. But you never want to be using this where you're, like trying to follow somebody. It will pick up on that so quickly They do have I mean, they have tripods all the way up to, like, hundreds of thousands of dollars on fluid head Tripod zehr Really great. They're expensive, but they're really great for doing. Um, you know something where you're gonna pan like I make it tutorial where they're zooming in or they're sweeping watching you to your eyeliner from side to side. Or if you're like, let's say you're doing lunges across the room, they could follow you and you would not notice. It's so, so smooth. And they also have, like, levels on, um and then it gets really, really, really advanced with tripods, um, levels where when you move it, automatically adjust the video so it it stays. It's almost like, um uh, like a level he in a little bubble. So when you move the level of the bubble, always days, that's how the cameras on. And then they also have the head that can flip up so you can shoot in portrait or go all the way down all the way up. So tripods are really great and sometimes your best friend when you don't have somebody to help you do videos. A couple other quick things to talk about when you're doing video, get a high speed memory card. Uh, I think if you're doing photos, I guess it doesn't matter. But if you aren't using a high speed memory card when you import it will you'll skipped frames and it will look really digital. His That makes sense. I also like editing. The video will be way better. You have a lot more moving room in terms of changing and fixing color corrections. All of that back up batteries. I don't even care if it's such a generic brand. Go on Amazon. You can almost always find backup batteries. Backup chargers Get in. You will lose your battery, Um, and then, especially if you're batch editing because you'll be recording all day. So wireless remotes are amazing. This one's for a phone. So you could I could have, like a little video shoot little runway action with just this or things like a the DSLR compact cameras. They must always will have a remote like this. They don't necessarily come with it, but you can go on Amazon type in the name of your camera and remote, and it will send it to you. Basic basic settings you got. Stop picture record the end. Also going back to the accessories. I mean, this is for your phone. You slip it in, you can go underwater with it. That's really cool. Um, that's the obvious way to use it. You know, swimming. Maybe you're teaching swim lessons there. The proper way to do the backstroke Adam. But for creative people or adventurous people, you had also put your phone in their carry. I could see you doing this. Maybe from your kid's perspective. Put the phone your kid like throwing food at it or paint or nail polish or makeup or, I don't know, pies, whatever. But it's really, you know, this is just a $5 accessories that can add a new dimension to your videos. Great B roll. I would not record Hi. Coming to you from this plastic bag today. It can't wait to share my tips on big vacation. And then, um, in your cameras, You also will most likely have additional settings like slo mo and time lapse. So use those that will make your videos a lot more interesting and intriguing toe watch in a great way to complement the tits and everything. That your work, your recording, and even need a break. Anybody have a question? I think that we have a couple questions online. Anything in the room? What number? Speed on the memory card do you suggest? Um, I'm not gonna say this one is, um, 45 but I would if you can afford to go faster, go faster. It kind of also depends on the camera. If this is doing four K, I want the fastest, most expensive SD card I can get. But if you're using just like a compact or go pro. You can probably just do somewhere in between Wait. Did actually have a couple questions about four K resolution. All that is that something we're gonna talk about or is that kind of more beyond? I feel like that's like four K like videographers will geek out over it. It is like movie quality. If anything, I would b'more excited to talk about the 96 3 per second. It basically means it's capturing mawr, um, footage in, like a second than any other setting, so you can just get the most amazing slow motion that you've ever seen. I mean, if you want to see a lunch 96 frames for a second, I would rather see that on then for cake. But I don't probably know the right platform. That's great. Um, we got a lot of questions about, like, very specific lights. What brand of this were branded that, and I don't think we want to ask those questions because that's not really the point of what we're talking about here. I kind of want to just re center us one more time on this idea. That year is not make a break for you one more time. I mean again, this is how Teoh market on YouTube, right? This is how to get yourself seen and heard by more people. It's not about how to make the most exquisite editorial videos. And I think we've already discovered and agreed that a lot of times I mean, if Kyler had the same lighting and everything, I'm Cuyler and so pretty my pretty lighting when keys not ever gonna need a ring light. I don't think so. In some cases, I feel like having to going to fancy can hurt you for sure. You have a question and maybe this is a silly one. But when you said that when you were recording with love Mike, are you just in video recording or is there a special app or what? So and also for the people who were asking about what specific brands and everything that I used actually have my very specific gear list from the equipment, the lights, the exact things that I purchased on Amazon as well is like the additional features and tools that I used to edit. All of that will be in the gear list. So you guys, if you want to copy every little thing. You totally can. Um, And then to answer your question for the lab, Mike, there is a voice recorder already built into an IPhone. There's also a whole bunch of high definition recorders. Are they high, def? No. I mean, you need, like, a $500 lab. Mike, to really get that. But, um, and you have more usability and function if you use like, an app that's built specifically for recording external audio. And then so your Onley recording audio on here and you're Onley recording. Well, you're recording video on here, and it will pick up the audio. But you use the audio from that. So when you important your video, you'll drag all the volume all the way down on the video, and you'll use that one top of it or underneath it in your timeline, maybe just one or two more here, Lisa D. V and a couple other people, and you might not know about this because not what you do. So feel free to say, what would you use if you were doing computer tutorials? My son would like to do Minecraft video. Oh, man, My Minecraft. He loves it so much. He actually got killed by a famous gamer on YouTube. Like Mom gets killed. Me. So excited. I'm not kidding. They do very well. I mean, they're the top three YouTubers online or gamers who are doing Lee Minecraft. Um, yes, we're covering that in the editing portion tomorrow. Screen cast our I'm sorry. Screen flow camped Asia those air like definitely big hitters And in terms of recording your screen for gaming

I enjoyed the class and learned many useful things I didn't know before. There are changes I would suggest. Too much time was spent viewing and critiquing existing videos. Demonstrating one (or more) of the free editing programs would be more helpful for beginners than showing how to use an expensive paid software. The information on selecting keywords should come earlier in the program (and SEO needs to be explained for those who don't know what it is and why it matters). More time should be devoted to editing info. More time should also be spent on the whole uploading process and on monetizing videos (and the benefits of doing that). Whippy is charming and knowledgeable but she had a tendency to get sidetracked on her own agenda (like searching for exactly when a company viewed her contest video). A general comment - it was hard to spend two full consecutive days watching this. I'm glad it fit my schedule but that was just lucky.

Well worth the time if you want to add videos to your business mix and don't know how to get started. Becki knows her stuff and makes each step easy to grasp, even for non-techies. I love her keep-it-simple approach and her positive outlook. The content was solid. Her delivery made it fun to learn.

Absolutely fabulous! Tons of down-to-earth info on YouTube, recording a video, editing a video, working within the parameters of YouTube's functionality, and much more. Whippy is knowledgeable and experienced. She shares her knowledge willingly, with humor, compassion, and integrity. It's the best course I've seen on CreativeLive, and I've seen many.
